Easily one of the best front to back tutorial builds on RU-vid. This dude just showcased how much knowledge he has on the matter. Hope to fly w you when I’m in Mass.
I like these videos, everything is well organized, and you teach and explain things clearly. Everything works perfectly on the first try. Sometimes I wonder if it's just me who faces unexpected issues, messes up with drone builds, or suddenly does something wrong and has to go back. Basically, things don’t always go as planned.
I've just finished my first ever build with the advice given throughout this video, which I must have watched at least 50 times. I had to take another 2-inch cinewhoop frame because the QAV-Pro Nano was no longer available, otherwise I used the same components except for the Remote ID and the switch, which I don't need. I'll do a test this afternoon and get back to you. Anyway, thanks Troncat for these videos full of tips and advice, I learn 3x faster with you.
@@Knippsler I'm having some troubles with PID Tuning (motors are hot as hell, battery is sucked up in seconds, Warning message from betaflight) that I haven't fixed yet otherwise it's a really good drone! I'll contact TroncatFPV to see if he can help us. I'll tell you more about the adventure in this comment!
I watched tons of building videos because I thought they are cool and I knew I will never build my own drone. 3 years later, I'm building my own drones.... :D :D
I like the step by step tutorials and this guy makes it look super easy I feel confident I can do this after watching this guy and I’ve only owned a cheap $40 dollar quad from Walmart 😂😂😅😅
@@TRONCATFPV 2 different ones the USB stopped working and on one it stopped displaying the BF OSD... I'm actually about to start building this next week. Do you have a stl file for the naked flywoo case? I have the reaper AIO in my cinebot. Has always worked flawlessly.
Awesome video! i have a question.. I see you put the airmode on the same switch as angle, that means when you fly in acro the air mode will be dissabled. Is not a good idea use the airmode on while flying in acro?
I’ve been setting up USER1 switches for my drones with O3 Air Units so when I’m setting up betaflight or tuning with a battery my O3 unit doesn’t over heat. It’s very helpful especially with drones with GPS on a cold start to acquire the satellites.
Holy shit I had no idea those vtx switches existed. That would have saved me about $200 worth of TBS unify's if I had know about them a year ago. The area I fly in is very easy to locate lost drones but very difficult to actually get to them. I've burned up 4 or 5 vtx modules now while my drone was stuck somewhere I couldn't get to it to turn it off
Please review the avata 2, I want to know if it could potentially replace my entire indoor real estate setup. (I also use the same frame and gopro as you, love it, but would like some sensors and emergency hover on the avata 2)
@@TRONCATFPV Awesome! I’ll be the first to watch it. Really looking forward to what the avata will do for the fpv industry. Also hoping the 04 (when it comes out) will finally be a gopro replacement
looking at copying this build for my first drone build. would you say this would fit a walksnail moonlight instead of the o3? as the o3 seems sort of vital in the structure..
Just finished this build, amazing video. I was wondering if there’s a way to power the Dronetag bs with microusb instead of the LiPo when it’s behind the vtx switch like that. Takes a while to get satellite lock and would be cool if there was a way to get that done on a battery pack and then plug in the lipo, just can’t figure it out. Thanks!
I'd personally prefer the QAV 2.5" frame with 1303.5 5000kv motors on 4S with only the O3 for recording. Similar to your last years sub250g cinewhoop. Just qav frame instead of the pavo25 frame Hopefully sometime soon the O4 can replace the gopro
QAV2.5” frame is killer. I have a few drones on that frame as well with the same AIO and an O3. The QAV line in general is pretty damn nice. Would love to see 8:7 or at least 4:3 5k on the O4. High hopes!
Rid question. I assume the rid acts as a normal gps and can be used for lost signal recovery/gps rescue ? And why bother putting on a switch? Why not just leave on all the time, I get indoor outdoor sense but is there a con or problem with just leaving on ? I’d imagine if your powering on indoor gps lock will delay and over head quad? Reason for off switch ? And how many sats need to lock for takeoff and how quick does it get there? Say 7 sats. Thanks asking for my qav nano and redkyte build. . Always look forward to your vids 👍🏼
Yes. You could add a foxeer or caddx or any analog camera and a diatone 1.6watt vtx or higher watt vtx. Analog isn't preferred as it does not have as good of penetration as digital systems such as djis o3 unit. Meaning you would get much worse signal breakup between walls of a house. Outside isn't much of an issue. Also. Analog might increase the drones weight
Thank you for the tutorial @troncatfpv ! I bought the frame right away! at 2:28 you mention that expressLRS receiver is compatible, but now I am ordering the parts and I see at specifications only: Receiver: CRSF / Frsky/ Futaba/ Flysky/ TBS Crossfire/ DSMX: DSM2 receiver no mention of ExpressLrs in the specifications :(
I’d love to hear your GoPro settings for variable lighting such as starting outdoors and going indoors. I’d imagine you use 4k60 8:7 and ISO 100 to 400 or 800. Do you lock shutter or have it on auto or with a minimum set at 180° Appreciate your time!
Roughly how long does a build like this take you? I would assume a novice builder (like me) would need more than double or triple the time but I'd like to have a ballpark idea of the time commitment if you don't mind. Great video btw and exactly the thing I want to have one day (sub250 with O3 and GoPro).
I got the switch and RID working perfectly except one thing. My OSD from betaflight is gone in my goggles. I can not figure out what I did wrong. Under my ports tag UART 1 appears to be my camera. It is an o3 plugged in. Nothing was wired to UART1 on my board so this is where I put the switch. Is it possible this is my problem?
Hey Tron, I appreciate your videos. I wanted to ask since I'm pretty new to this; I'm looking to build/buy a cinewhoop or bigger drone and currently have a BETAFPV Cetus. Its too light and has sh*tty range, and I want better footage than analog DVR. I bought a pair of Fatshark Echos and I also have a DJI FPV 2 controller. Is there a certain setup I could use that is compatible with both the analog goggles I have and the DJI Controller?
Hello there. I was searching for your patreon but can t find it. Would be happy to support ! I was wondering, would recommand the nano frame or the 2.5 " frame ? ANd is there a big difference from your experience with others cinewoops frames ?
Whats the benefit of being under 250g while flying under part 107 if you still need to be remote I'd compliant? Is it just so that it is category 1 for OOP or are there more benefits?
Do you prefer the qav 2" or 2.5" with a naked gopro? i already have a 3" but want something smaller for indoor/real estate type work, cant decide if I should go 2" or 2.5"
Great video, i have a question about what cinewhoop to get. After fliing FPV for a year now after 6 years of mavics (watch my channel), i ended up with 5 drones and one of them is a cinelifter. I want to get started with Real Estate videos and after searching for a cinewhoop i found these two options under 250g: First is the more expensive version by "red kyte zwei" witch has a gopro in the frame but has probably the best fly performance and can be used also for some sport shots (2in1). And the second option this drone in your video witch has the advantage that i would decase my existing gopro witch i use still across all of my drones. So i wouldnt have to buy a gopro just for that 2in1 drone. I am now in a dilemma, I dont know if the second option still flies good when used in sports. If you can recomend something it would be great. (*It has to be dji o3 and elrs)
This drone does use the O3 transmission, just not for radio link. I prefer to use crossfire on all my professional equipment and don't want to be limited to DJI's controller.
Beautiful build! How’s the flight characteristics compared to the 2.5? I think you definitely found a nice balance of light, probably quieter and safer drone to fly around people. Curious how it does on gentle dive / split s with the naked GP
This little guy performs surprisingly well outdoors even in mild wind. In that exterior shot of Supercharged the sun was setting and we needed to quickly get outside to film. This drone was the only one I had on hand at the moment and I was like, screw it, lets send it and see what it can do. Performed way better than I anticipated tbh. Didn't do much freestyle flight but performed great in dives with the GP11.
CLI Dump link sends me to some weird site with some notification requests. Is there another link for the CLI? Also, Thanks a ton for this great build video.
@@justkillen07 Nope, I just followed along with the end of the video and set it up. I also figured that I had enough unique changes to my config that It was overall better to just configure betaflight on my own instead of using CLI. My build flies great tho!
@justkillen07 mine flies great. Same motors. Almost everything is the same, except I do not have the pit switch. Are you running the same props? Are you sure they are not upside down? I had a hard time telling which side should be up. I followed the tuning steps except I left airmode on instead of having it on a switch and I did not do any pit switch stuff.
After the release of the Pavo25 v2, think it can be done more efficiently than this build? Still wondering though. Would you build this 100% the same now in Sept 2024?
The GoPro just connects via the balance cable that flywoo includes with their naked GoPro kits. You could opt to solder a power cable directly to the flight controller if you prefer.
Bopping and weaving for your parts you linked because they’re SOLDOUT! Can’t find rush antenna, I have the tango 2 pro with crossfire so identical build? Can’t believe I’m diving down this rabbit hole as my first build🤦♂️
Hey super nice video!!! I have built similar set up just with QAV Micro Frame and flying with Flywoo naked GoPro 11 + Tattu 450mah 4s battery. Unfortunately after approximately 40-50s of flight goPro stops recording. Do you have similar experience?
If you're using a slower memory card you'll run into shorter record times. You'll also run into shorter record times if you're using a naked case that doesn't offer sufficient cooling, this will cause the gopro to overheat and shut down.
Life savor with this video, I’ve been on the hunt and was recommended this drone, no prior building experience but we are gonna give it a shot! Can it support the naked go pro 12 in the link you supplied or does it have to be a certain naked go pro to make it under 249?
Im a big fan of lumeniere’s QAV line. They have a 2” and 2.5” frame that are awesome. Just did a whole build tutorial using the 2” frame a week or two ago 🤙
Hi , nice video. I am newbie and i love drone world but i don't want to buy a builed-drone... so after watching your video wanna know which rc controller i should buy ? a controller that i will use for other drones that i will build myself ... thank you for answering
If I may share my opinion, anything by Radiomaster will be a good option. Radiomaster pocket is the budget but still good option. Radiomaster Boxer is probably the best for the price. Other than Radiomaster anything with EdgeTX will be great. ELRS is probably the best radio link to go with. Crossfire is good too but is a little more expensive
@@fpvkye7414 hi, thank you for your kind reply. So i want to stay on budget controller radiomaster pocket but they ask for "region" -> fcc or lbt ??? Another question, for the "beginner drone" instead ? thank you for your time
What country are you located in? The FCC is for compliance in the USA and LBT is Europe. FCC version will have a higher output power as Europe has a 100mw output limit I believe. I’m not sure I understand your second question. Could you try asking it in a different way?
@@fpvkye7414 good morning mate ! I am situated in Italy . The last question was : which drone i should buy for start ? Not Dji because i love making stuff on my way.
The above website will have all the parts you need and info about them. I’m assuming you want to do outdoor fun flying which would Lead you to drones in the 5” class. The Joshua bardwell kit is great as JB has a full build series detailing every step of the way. All the tools and recommended parts are listed on his site too. In terms of what video system you’d want you have a few options: Analog is the cheapest and lightest. Has worked for years and is very simple to use. Low video quality though HD-Zero is kind of in between digital and analog. Very low latency and better visual quality than analog. Ideal for racing You have two digital options available: DJI Highest latency of all the video links but highest video quality. Works pretty flawlessly but pretty much no room for cross compatibility Walksnail Slightly lower latency than DJI similar video quality. A little more compatibility with other stuff (standalone vrx modules to run on analog or hdzero goggles) However it may be slightly more buggy
