Modern vanities are garbage. Here is a great alternative: turn a vintage or antique dresser into a beautiful bathroom vanity. I try to provide enough details so you can do this on your own. Part 2 coming shortly.
That is really cool! I will have to get my son to watch this. He is wanting to get into doing more woodworking projects, with hopefully building a small business out of it.
Definitely make sure all the plumbing is in its final position and the cabinet is in position. If it's off even a little, you'll be cutting and trimming after the drawers are done. Which is not good!
I am going to do this. I was planning on replacing the whole top, but I see you did not do that. Are you not concerned about water stains or warping of the wood over time?
We actually planned on putting stone on top. However, it would have been very expensive. We actually have 2 wood tops like this. We put 6 coats or so of marine grade poly on it. It's held up very well for 2 years. Obviously, we do take some care to wipe off any water, but it does protect the wood quite well.
