Could you make a video about relaxed outfits for hourglass figures. When you are hourglass the clothing the everyone recomends are more tailored. Anything for the hourglass woman who is just more relaxed?

You are correct! My mother lived in France for a long time and of course, I lived with my mother growing up. She said in France the girls bought VERY high end, well made clothing and sometimes even tailored them or had them made. The girls (and my mom) kept basic colored pants, a pair of jeans, very tailored basic shirts, only about 25 clothing items BUT they did dress them up and change the look using scarves and jewelry. She could literally make hundreds of outfits using accessories but kept only her basics.

I bought 1 tee-shirt you designed and it's just perfection! The fabric, the cut, the color (blanc cassé) everything feels luxurious. Since I found no space on your website for customer feedback, I'm using this platform to express my delight about your design. I'm going to buy the black one as well. Yes, it's pricey but I prefer to buy very little things but things that last instead of cheap tees, for ex, that looks terrible after 100 wash and are made by underpaid, abused workers and perhaps even by children. I'm dying to see your summer collection since I live in the West Indies. And yes, the delivery was flawless as well.

I'm 21 and after moving away to university I realised just how much hoarded stuff I've kept. Living in England almost all of my clothes are winter clothes with only 10 summer items for when I visit friends in France in the summer. 3 shorts, 2 dresses and 4 tops plus a beach wrap. My wardrobe still has clothes from when I was 14, which admittedly some of which still fits. I'm definitely going to create a capsule wardrobe. How much less cluttered my life will be! Merci Justine! Ceci vraiment rafraîchissant.

Hi, Justine! I wanted to let you know that after watching this video I took your advice, threw out bags and bags of old clothing from my mid-20's, and am now in the process of filling out a capsule wardrobe for each summer and winter with high quality, classic pieces, that look fabulous, fit right, and will last. Watching your channel has helped me so much, and makes me wish that my mother had taught me more about fashion as she did modeling in France in the 60's. At least I am figuring it out at last in my mid 30's! I feel so much more confident, relaxed, and happy now that I don't have to angst over what looks good or what I am going to wear.

I'm going to give a capsule a try for when I need to start wearing maternity clothes. It's the perfect opportunity, since I'll need to start more or less from scratch (have some things left from when I was pregnant with my son 7 years ago, but at that time I didn't care about my style and focused more on price, so wore hand me downs and the stuff I could grab cheaply on Ebay). And there's an end date for it, so if I'm miserable and it doesn't work, I know when I can go back to my regular wardrobe. I've been slowly collecting pieces and putting them away for when I have to move into them (too early for them yet), mostly from thrift stores, so I think I'll have a great foundation to work with! If I end up loving it, I can adjust my regular wardrobe when I'm ready to go back into it!

Justine's advice on this is superb! I have been interested in capsule wardrobes for quite a while. Quite a few years ago, I was in the travel industry. I was a bit poor. And my husband and I had one small closet. I also did some sewing of my own clothes. I devised a whole wardrobe of black, grey, white and red. I could mix and match everything. I and a couple of my fellow travel agents conducted a 21 day tour too over 100 clients to New Zealand, Tanzania and Tahiti, and I was able to fit everything in a reasonably sized suitcase. I also began to figure out the silhouettes that suited me. I am short. I have done this kind of thing ever since then and I am very pleased with it. It makes dressing easier. I have a kind of "uniform", one for work and one for fun. I also like Justine's reminders to save the special occasion and ceremonial pieces, like the saris. So giving up shopping?! Well, I figured out a way to satisfy my desire for novelty. I started buying beautiful lingerie:) And I still love my shoes. In one of the comments below, buying in vintage or used stores was also mentioned. Excellent idea! There are often superb new or almost new items that are perfect. I do also choose to replace items, when they are good quality and especially when they are on sale. Thanks, Justine, for all of the delightful information.

Thanks Justine for another awesome video! I naturally already have a capsule wardrobe since I studied in a different state and then moved across the country and again across the Atlantic. I never felt like I needed more. It blows my mind how consumerism seduces people-- 120 pieces of clothing is so much! I am thrilled that minimalism is trendy because it is good for everyone and everything, especially the planet.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Did this last night and today the local thrift store got a lot of clothes today. I did my capsule a bit different but an extension of yours. I separated my first pass into the 3 piles , including this season's clothes into the first pile, you mentioned. I then set aside all my Autumn/Winter clothes, from the first pile, I separated into 3 piles, Wear all season everyday basics, key pieces and feature pieces and a special 4th pile the LBD ;-) I did that for the Autumn/Winter pile too. Then I took the all season basics and made that into a wear across both capsules and then the other 2 seasons' capsules. I'm SO happy with the results. After the purge, I came up with the following tally: All season basics (16 everyday basic/6 Key pieces/3 feature pieces, with a total of 27 this included my LBD category too) Spring/Summer (6 everyday basic/3 Key pieces/6 feature pieces, with a total of 15) Autumn/Winter (4 everyday basic/2 Key pieces/6 feature pieces, with a total of 12) Of course, I got completely ocd with this and image logged all my clothes, created an excel spread sheet and micro organized it further (don't judge) but, a really big but here, it was REALLY cleansing and I got to re-examine my reasoning behind the need to shop for unnecessary clothes. My eyes opened to how easily clothing got pushed to the back of the closet, but I also gave me the opportunity to "shop my closet" while I purged that which isn't needed any longer simultaneously! I seriously recommend anyone to do this, it really sharpens your perspective on your style and your shopping habits as well as getting a nice clean closet again!

Hi Justine (my namesak I cannot believe how you (you channel) came in my life at the best moment possible, not only do I learn a lot from you, but also now in a sense of downsizing my wardrobe. I’ve been thinking and breaking my head on how to get rid of all the clothes I don’t wear (and btw I don’t shop a lot at all and I have a problem that I sentimentality get attached to my clothes and can’t throw or give them away), but for some months now I was really thinking about it and I decided to downsize, but unfortunately didn’t know how or where to begin. So I found your channel and was watching videos and I love them (I love your channel)! I saw a video about “fast fashion” (which made me very sad tbh) and now this one...I cannot tell you how grateful and excited I was, because now I can easily and happily declutter my closet and make space for clothes I will actually want to and will wear! So thank you so much for coming into my life! P.S. You talked about thrift shops and online sites, where people sell secondhand clothes (that was in the video about “fast fashion”). I know this is not that video, but I would be really grateful, if you could write some names of this websites, where I can see and buy these secondhand clothes (of course, if you know any 😉)! I’m sorry for the long “comment”! Yours sincerely, (Tinka) Justina from Slovenia! 😍🤗

I need to go through all of my things and de clutter. I lost 2 and a half stone this last year so have been buying new bits and bobs this summer, mostly good quality, classic pieces that fit me well and I feel good in. A couple of wrap dresses, black leather loafers, the perfect jeans, black cropped trousers, and a well fitted white t shirt. I’ll keep most of my winter jumpers and tops as they’re very good quality and will look even better now they aren’t tight. But everything else just falls off me!

If you have trouble sizing down your closet, try traveling (for work, exchange studies, backpacking) for longer periods of time. You'll notice that you can manage easily with smaller wardrobe! my wardrobe as whole has around 60 pieces for the entire year (including festive wear)^^ another good tip is that when you shop a new piece, let an old one go (sell it).

Justine Leconte officiel I'm sorry I wasn't clear - I need to buy more clothes, because right now I have less than that, so for me this capsule wardrobe means the opposite than it should. :)

It's opposite for me as well :) It's difficult to find nice clothes at a good price-point though. I'm typically picky. I want nice fabrics, nice patterns or colors, nice shapes. It's honestly difficult to find.

I love you Justine ! as a 40 year veteran of the fashion / apparel industry, I must say you give some of the best advise out there. As for average # of items though here in N.A., the average number of things in a woman's closet isn't 120. It's.... (brace yourself) on average 356 (data taken form the book "Overdressed: The High Cost of Fast Fashion") . Even in a country with 4 distinct seasons, like here in Canada, where you need to dress for a wide variety of weather ! that is a ridiculous amount of clothing. And I would remind everyone that's is an average. Some women have more than that. This obscene amount of acquisition spills over into stuff like... a home now in the USA *must* have a walk in closet. Why ?! Home never used to *need* a walk in closet. Well, to house the THREEE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX PIECES OF CLOTHING ! More stuff ! Bigger closets ! Bigger housing footprints ! More square footage to heat ! More impact on the environment ....and on it spirals. Thank you for reminding people they can get by - even in a 4 climate country - with much less than 120 pcs or god forbid, 356, and that less truly is more. :)

I do this regularly and i cannot say how freeing it is. I also figured the things i don't wear often (i usually give it away to charity or friends/family) but i figured as a country girl i can use these pieces (do far they are comfy and casual) as work wear around the garden etc. Like they are still in my life but have a different function.

Thanks for good tips, I really like your voice. I have lot of clothe, but I can't downsize to 50, but I making capsule wardrobe for week or two. I have a system approach for my wardrobe: on shelves separately stores shirts, t-shirts, skirts, pants, by type. Separately on hangers I store jackets and coats. On the top shelve I store bags, I have a lot of it. One section with hangers i keep free for capsule for a week and rearrange it in weekends. I like to buy a cheap clothe, do not feel regrets when something happens with it. I don't have own car and use public transport, have two different jobs and like active rest, so I need many different types of clothe and just like try different styles and fashions. And in Odesa weather is so different every day, so more clothe you have the better

I kind of had that when I was 14/15 because I had grown out of all my children's clothes and couldn't afford to shop. I NEVER just bought an item. If I bought a piece of clothing, it was on a list of things I needed which I had written after throwing my children's stuff out. I had to save up to even buy the cheapest, worst quality clothes and I only had like 2 sweaters and 5 t-shirts and 2 pairs of pants and 1 pair of shoes. Honestly, now that I can afford more clothing, I would NEVER do this again. I was bored out of my mind with the few things I wore over and over. I like to vary.

Thank you for your videos Justine. So many of the things you say about fashion and buying quality pieces are things my mom told me growing up... I never listened. I told her so and sent her a link to your how to tie a scarf video. She said she saved it as a reference point. She and I both love how you are straightforward and organized in your videos.

Your video explains so well how I can start to build a capsule wardrobe! I’ve watched so many but couldn’t figure out how to start. I think your video is so helpful because you talked about the actual point of building a capsule wardrobe!:) to own only what you really really like wearing! Such a helpful video. Thanks for sharing!:)

I've just realised that I'm kind a half capsule for more than half of my life 😊 I buy easy combinable things, I regularly wear like 80% of them, but I'm not able to keep the total count because I sweat a lot and have to change my tops during the day. But what I want now is to slowly recreate my style by changing jeans&tees into sometning more feminine, sophisticated, maybe personal and smart. That's why I'm so happy about capsule wardrobe idea. So thank you for this series! 🌼 Greetings from the CZ 🌄

This is amazing. I’ve been doing a version of this since I was around 11. I take out all my clothes at the start of each season and sort it into keeping and donating and tried to keep the keeping pile to a minimum, especially as I still grow taller

I did a variation of this that worked for me. Living in Canada means we have 4 seasons, but often we will have very cool days in summer or quite warm days in early winter. So for me, it is easier to have 2 wardrobes, one spring/summer, and one fall/winter. I bought myself a set of 50 velvet hangers as 'inspiration' and told myself 2 seasons need to fit on those 50 hangers. I then went through my closet the way you described, in early fall, and ended up donating a large trash sized bag of clothing I either didn't like, never wore or didn't fit right. Then, as I hung each of the remaining 50 items, I turned the hanger facing backward. The next time I wore an item, when it was time to put it away after it was laundered, now I turned the hanger forward. At the end of winter, when I was switching over to spring/summer, anything on a hanger that was still facing backward (meaning I had not worn it at all during fall/winter) was removed and donated. Then I did the same thing for spring/summer. Now I love opening my closet, being able to see all my favourite items and choosing creative ways to combine pieces into an outfit! Also, if I buy a new item, I must make room for it by donating another item, 'one in, one out' is my new rule and it is working! :)

A very good idea! I've been trying to downsize the amount of garments I own for quite some time now. I do however find it awfully difficult to accept that some particular clothes need to be given away because I find them beautiful (yet I never wear them). What works for me is taking small steps - going through my clothes once a month and choosing something to get rid off from every shelf :)
