How to Build a Closet door pantry shelf unit

In this build I took an idea from my in laws and just made it bigger. The shelving unit I built here is rather inexpensive yet such a great addition to any small kitchen. The whole unit was built with pine 1" x 4"s from the big box store. Unfortunately since the pine was so inexpensive, it wasn't the straightest stock. But it worked well and will for you too!

What did you use to attach shelf to door.. was or a hollow core door? I’m trying to figure out how to attach to door thanks

I'll aak my father in law. He attached it on a solid core door. I thought he used "L" brackets but I am not positive.

I used the old "figure 8" brackets. You can see that around 6:25 in the video

I used coarse due to the wood being pine

Did you have to brace the door for the added weight? I did something similar but the hinges are starting to bend from the weight.

Hi Michele, thanks for the question. This was hung on a solid door at my in-laws. As of today, there have been no issues. They did not reinforce or add bracing to it.
