Stuff I forgot to mention: SCS 1200 Silicone seems to be a great silicone for Acrylic to Glass, amzn.to/2ASYtrK, ain't perfect but it sticks fine. I recommend paper sand the side of the acrylic to get more surface friction. I'm working on a different design with my frag tank, if it works I will show you the process

protip: for perfect lines, and no risk of paint sticking to the tape, always pull it while the paint is wet.

I might just do this with my tank the idea is so good and it beats paying a few thousand dollars to just get one made like this this idea is definitely a money saver

It didn't seem to perform as well like freshwater, but more importantly it can be dangerous for coral if you don't follow the rinse instruction (bleach...), Coral are very sensitive, it's just not worth the trouble.

@@AquaSplendor i see now . I did a template for my project and i am starting to scratch my head , you did not leave any room at the top of the aquarium for any waves , i want to do the project on a 50 gallon tank , and i might use a powerful pump , i should cut longer over flow eight ?

@@theamjadjamousable I would do the minimum cut then make the whole project, test it, like in real life with water, dry, cut a little bit more until you you are satisfy. Don't forget organic accumulation can alter the flow.

I use the same light for my Cheato, works great. Also, neighbors think we have a marijuana grow operation as the light illuminates the downstairs from 10pm to 8am every night.
