This is part 2 of how I built my DIY CNC Router. In this video, I'll go through the building of the X, Y, and Z-axis of the CNC. My goal for this video is not to provide every single step but to pass along my experience and to help inspire those out there with the interest and passion to build their own CNC machine.

Using the jig saw to cut the aluminum was courageous.. I’m building a machine as well but I’m going to have wood or plexiglass templates made of my solidworks file, mount the template unto the aluminum and use a plunge router to cut them out then a flush bit to clean things up.. I would jack my aluminum up doing it freehand like you did.. You did an excellent job B..

That was a circular saw, actually. There are a lot of builds of this type of thing on youtube. This guy has a build video for his and there are a couple clever tricks to his. But, yeah, seeing it cut aluminum was mind-blowing.

I am also enthusiastic about technology and i go to a technical school for mechanical engineering. Could you build a cnc plotter? One like the "Scribi the drawing machine". This one makes so amazing drawings.

Hi . First I want to say big big respect to your job and what you are done . Second I am I interested of your project and I want to build my own cnc router cause I start to need it . Peoblem is that I not have you skills to make 3d draws and project and what I see your project look fantastic and rigit enough to can cut steel and aluminum. Please can you share it with me even if I need to pay not problem ,my point is I not want to sale or make profit just I want to have the draws of the aluminum clamps and linear rails model and etc to I can build it and use it . Thanks and again big respect .

You did an incredible job! Extremely impressive. Have you thought about selling a set of plans for the mechanical build? If you offered PDFs as well as dxf or Fusion 360 files to CNC cut the aluminum parts, it would allow others to build a machine like this.
