3 things these must have: 1. Not flimsy. I’m not shelling out 50+ dollars just to have it break. 2. Be reasonably priced so plebeians like me can afford ‘em. 3. The high ground.
I got a toy remote control bb-8 a couple years ago, and the inside/core looks really similar. The little rounded head piece is a magnet to hold bb-8s head on.
I noticed that the "R-Series Blaster Attachments" are taken directly from the old Power of the Force R5-D4 figure! The attention to detail in this merch is astounding, haha!
@7:25 that's exactly how I feel! 😭 I'm going to have to limit what I get or I'm going to end up buying everything. The lightsaber and droids are a given. But then I also need the holocron and the monkey lizard and EVERYTHING!!!
Haha, I forgot about the monkey lizard, yes! And yeah. I already need to budget for the lightsaber, the robes, the holocron, the droid, food, probably SOME kind of pet, inevitable souvenirs for family, and any unplanned expenses. Plus ticket and hotel costs. Oof. Worth it though.
Late to the game, but I'd totally build an R unit in the style of R5-D4. Always loved that little guy. Kinda felt bad for him as a kid when he haywired and got sent back. He'd be nice and helpful. I'd love an Endor camo color treatment.
At first I wanted to avoid seeing any preview videos to Galaxy’s edge but I realize I won’t get a chance to get to Disneyland for at least a year since my kids just went last week. These videos are all I have for now to keep me in the loop till I get to experience it myself. I already know my visit to this shop will go. Me “oh, I need” Wife “No” Me “wow, I gotta build me a”.. Wife “You don’t need that”

I really need to go down to Galaxy's Edge when it opens so I can build a black R2 unit with green accents using a clear head with black accents. I think it would be funny to get a First Order personality chip but put the restraining bolt on it and pretend like the droid has been "reprogrammed" to serve drinks with the serving tray. Ideally there would be purple bodies and legs and a clear head with purple, but since there Isn't I guess I'd get a white and purple BB unit so they can be buddies. So long bank account lol
When galaxy's edge opens will you do a product pricing videos? Really dig the amount of detail and info you get and provide so you got a new subscriber outta me
I think I would go with the R2 unit because it looks easier to control. But I wish they put the option for something like a seeker droid that Iden Versio had in Battle Front 2. I could walk around with it on my shoulder or back.
I like the 77 in the logo. Gotta get me an R6 unit. Not sure why I love that cylindrical head, maybe it's Chopper. Kinda wish we could get a C1 droid actually... but yeah, I'd go for blues (favorite color) with a Resistance (or Jedi, if available) personality chip. Gotta continue that Light Side representation. And I'd need those tool accessories. What use is an astromech that can't repair your ship? I absolutely want to see more videos on these shops, yes. Can't get enough of this.
The rounded part has a magnet that connects to the magnet in the head which also has a spring pusher below that pushes the head forward and on the bottom of the bb8 inside has wheels that roll the outer shell

The Backpack looks like it can definitely hold both types of droids, and my guess on the cost would be $25, it looks to be decently made, like you could bring it back to the park to hold stuff regularly. So it's not a cheapo item. but I think $20 would be just too low, and $30 would be way too much. So like a $23-27 kind of range.
Disney World had Pal Mickey which was activated by various things in the park back in the early 2000s. It would be cool is your build a droid would do that.
Hey, Dan-O! I'm hoping you can answer this: does the depot still sell individual parts? And if so, are there trustworthy people that you may known of who will purchase and ship you a certain part? I've been looking for the orange and white r4 head, but the only one on ebay is 100.
Sometimes it does. Just depends on stock levels. They don’t always sell them by themselves and they never sell r unit bodies or bb unit motivators. Just legs, domes, and bb shells. I know that the scavenger princess (Lisa Marie Shane) on Facebook is a great smuggler
NiNi Douglass personality chips were 12.99. Wasn’t able to see how much the backpacks were because they were sold out that day. I think they sell a certain amount each day.
Am I allowed to just cry with happyness and totally freak out?? It's extremely rare that I'm this happy XD I'm totally going to build one that's all different colors, not too sure if it will be an R-2 unit or BB unit, and I might get the smuggler's personality chip! I do have the sphero BB-8 so I might be leaning towards R-2! Either way, we should have a funeral for our wallets.
I would honestly lose my mind if they did a remote control build a droid of a T-Series and if the did a build a droid versions of c3p0 units would be awesome and would totally give all my money for an HK unit
I noticed the core of the bb units look exactly like the core of a BB-8 rc toy that is currently already on the market it could just be because it's the only way to actually make a toy designed like a bb series droid that can work but thought I'll point it out.
BB unit with the blue head that was in the front row of heads in the picture of all the bb unit heads, a blue body with a first order personality chip. Also I’ll probably buy an R2 unit as well as DJ R3X
So the theory i heard is these are meant to resemble the size of the pet droids from the SWTOR game. They're gonna be really fun to work with and customize and I plan on getting an R2 unit and a BB unit. These are gonna be killer.
Also think you should do the other videos too. Would love to see you do the overviews. I have some friends that are gonna be working the first few weeks of opening. They are doing their best to get peicing info for me on this stuff because i normall have a tight budget. But yea between these droids and the lightsabers, my wallet is going to cry.
I like the head that's short with the camera/holoprojector on the top, if I can I'd get that, with a r2 core with tools attachment, and jets on the legs if I can, and have a smuggler personality chip, maybe not sure about the colors on the droid, or it's leg's
I would love for u to talk about all the stuff coming to Disney World and land. Also the droid I would build is an R series and make mine black, Red, and silver. I would make it a first order droid
Good news, the Disney world version of Galaxy’s Edge is going to have the exact same stuff so everything I mention will also be at the Florida opening!
Custom Droid: I'm doing an R-series, with the R1 head (big cone head), red in color with white or grey highlights. And Smuggler personality. Not set on getting accessories, but if I do, it's everything but the tray, probably too if I had to pick one(Think of it this way: if a Bounty Hunter had and customized an Astromech.). So, by your estimates, these things will be $310 on the high end, including the lightsaber stuffs(Not doing low end: best to plan for the highest price.). Dear lord, I'm getting more and more scared to go here. Also, am I going crazy or did you mention creatures at 7:25, and then the creature shop near the end? Are we able adopt creatures or something? If so, I want a video on that, if you'd plz. I'm curious about all the experiences you can undergo, and things you can customize.
I'm guessing the shirts with the reflection print was aimed for wearing at night. Flash photography was just a way to test or prove the reflective properties. Definitely gonna be melting my credit cards soon Haha
The clear tops are for the R3-series. The follow-up to the popular R2-series, they focus a bit more on capital ship maintenance and repair rather than starfighters...but they can do both. Considered in EU canon as slightly improved over R2s, but having more sarcastic personalities. The BB series seems to have two major flaws: head is easily kicked off, and lining up the tool panels will be a pain. Better to stick with the R-Series.
Just a little fun note, I translated his patch into English and it says 'Scrum Rat.' No clue what it means, but it may be a saying like 'Rebel Scum' or 'Loth rat', both sayings are heard in Star Wars Rebels (Rebel scum is more heard of then Loth rat since the title Loth rat refers more specifically toward rebels from Lothal) Edit: I know now that it’s from Solo. I think I’d go with a black R2-D2 unit with probably a resistance personality as though I got him from the empire and reprogrammed him. I love the classic R2-D2 unit and am building a 1:2 scale model of him from Deagostini models I haven’t decided yet if he’s going to be weathered or not yet. I’m really excited about the new addition to the park as I live in Long Beach I’m only 45 minutes away. I bet it’s going to be really great for everyone but unfortunately I won’t be able to go because I have a service dog that must be with me always especially if I were in a crowd I suffer from severe anxiety disorder and though I love Star Wars probably more than anyone I will have to miss this because I can’t bring my dog in the park and I don’t go to places he can’t go.
In the 2022 droid depot, do you know if they sell the T3-M4 as a moving droid? And possibly the price of it if they do? I was watching another video and a little one did come flying out. I didn't think to bookmark it but thought it was so cute I would like to get one. I'm going but someone I know is and I need to write down everything in detail that I want them to pick up for me. Also do they discount the price if you buy two or more droids? I've never been, but so want to go now after checking out all these videos.
As of right now it is exclusive to in the park only. But that could change. When Pandora opened, the little Banshee puppets were exclusive to the park only, but now they sell them on the disney store. So you never know
