Join a community, On line forum, Admin - are important, it time to position yourself, !) Be consistant 2) Brand have to be consistant 3) Entertain, Get someone attention 4) Engage with people would likely be your fans 5) Someone similar to you....It takes time, do it , be consistant....I like your info.

A few years ago I dropped a nice mixtape that people were vibing with and then I just stopped dropping music for a long time and people forgot how ill I am. Reddit is a big forum, of course... r/hiphopheads is a big one (I think it's THE biggest one for hip-hop) if you're a rapper... I don't know for sure about other genres. Also, I agree with the sentiment that there are many ways to grow your fanbase. If you're on RU-vid you could do like a music editing series or a beat making series if you produce your own music. Those "how to sound like" videos seem to still be popping with mid-to-low competition (in comparison to other things on RU-vid). Also, rappers don't seem to be talking to producers that much. You can see if they'll help promote your stuff (if you use their beat). Another thing is, if you look at what's trending you could make a rap about a trending topic and tag your rap video accordingly (the goal is to be pretty quick on the trending topic like your rap should go up within a few days of the topic that you're rapping about becoming popular). Just some tips I learned... I'm definitely still learning my way around promotion, by no means am I an expert, lol. But anyway ya'll, stay consistent and stay positive. I learned that things don't happen until you put work on top of work. Keep working hard ya'll,, and don't forget to take care of yourself too,,

Community works. In Seattle in the 90s bands got together and built a community and grunge music scene. Nirvana, Pearl Jam Soundgarden etc. They all blew up together. There's strength in numbers

Adding value definitely works. It’s the first thing I do with the artists I work with and it’s been the most effective technique to build their social followers that actually engage with their content.

I have the problem of being unique and in a cultural deadzone as far as appreciating music (Orlando). I do have some fans (grown online) but I can’t seem push past the few dozen, in terms of numbers. And getting them to share. It’s like everyone is waiting for me to blow up to see it as cool it’s really weird and extremely frustrating. I do have industry collabs and hella talented but something isn’t working right. Gotta figure it out tho. Guess that’s why I’m watching hours of videos on yt at 3 am learn how I can better myself
