This is the most unbelievable build I've ever seen. And I don't just say that based on the speed. Each component selection is just well thought out and purposeful. Really well done. Those vendors should be all over this paying you to promote.
I was asking about the parts yesterday... this video just popped up! You answered most of my questions in the video. The parts are more expensive than I was thinking... I'll budget $2500-$3000 for my project, but I'll probably use an old hybrid road bike, if the motor will fit in the dropout.
Over 60 MPH on a bike!! Bro, that is F'n Fast :) Thanks so much for the incredibly detailed video walk through to show us the components you chose. I think you built a great stealth vehicle that is capable of incredible speeds. I love it!!
Thank you, that was excellently detailed. I’m salivating at the thought how my bike will feel when I seriously upgrade it. The build was expensive *relatively* But the Greta thing is if you were to buy a prepare bike anywhere near this level of performance you’d be paying 2x the amount. And come to think of it I don’t think there are bikes out there that are *normal* size that are sold without being as you stated enduro wide/dirt bike’ish that call unwanted attention from cops & possible thieves. Most people will think it is at best a 500watt ebike that doesn’t even cost half the amount it actually does when you build it oneself.😎
Nice build! You could do affiliate links and make a little $$ with what you have done! I have an old Rock Hopper frame with front suspension that I would love to convert. Would you send or post a part list?
Thank you for the walk through. Seems more hassle for me to build than what it's worth I'd mess s few things up and it would be a paper weight to me as i would give up trying to troubleshoot the issues. So much can go wrong 😢
I did a few builds on Walmart bikes they work fine. It’s the assembly where they fall short. They come with very little grease and incorrect torque. Gotta give it a once over specially the bottom bracket, headset, and the cups/cones on the hubs if they are loose ball bearing. That’s usually the weak point of the bike them loose ball hubs, but if you are doin a hub motor build then you are gettin rid of one of the wheels anyways.
The only problem with these ebikes is getting caught in the upgrade death spiral. 1000w is good so 2000w is twice as good. Oh, now my 30a controller cant give me peak power so I’ll buy 80a controller. Oh no, now my battery can’t supply the amps i need so ill get a bigger (heavier) battery. Hmmm, need 5kw motor. Oh no, now i need 10 kw controller. Oh my BMS tripped on over current. Bypassed. Browses QS motors, see’s 8kw motor. Searches for FarDriver ND72850 controller (450 DC amps). Buys second 200a battery, wires it in parallel with first battery. Finally $100 frame snaps in half. But seriously, this is a great hobby to get into and can be as cheap or as expensive as your budget supports.
You seem to have general knowledge of each of your components that each of us find hard to get. Would you do a set of videos, like one on wheel/hub motors, maybe tell the difference between the series like 4t 5t or whatever you mentioned, maybe one on controllers, say each Sabvaton series, all in their own video comparing each, maybe one on batteries, same kind of thing? Your explanations are clear an to a layperson that makes what you are saying easy to understand! With affiliate links, or even a ebike dealership, seems you could go into ebike component sales pretty easily. Keep up the great videos! Thanks a bunch for the thorough explanation of your build!
i just built a 23s10p, 96.6v 26.2ah with tested recycled cells and a 0.5ohm 193a bms just tested working last night, passed charge test went from 86.7v to 94v in about an hour and 45 minutes, at 7amps. im excited to get it out on the "trail"
Cool Display! My DIY kit builds controller do not have the connectors. Cheaper to buy kits without displays but didn't know not every controller universal of adding on LCD display. Must have LCD on label specs
About the front fork: I had a entry level sr suntour and just upgraded to entry level rock shox I think they're called silver. Big big improvement and they don't cost much. I think $210
I might be wrong but you might have to take the pressfit out and make spacers out of pvc to take up the play on the mid drive or I think they make a adapter
@@E-bikeguy I cracked up when you said @ 23:18 " An don't even ask me what zone 5 is cuz, haven't even went there yet! I'm too scared to even try!" LOL Now that's a honest man I said " need one of your set ups too, some day soon, thanks for posting
I built your Tommy bike for 1500! The trick is buying used cells on battery clearing house! Built a 84v 40 amp hour battery for 250! How long it will last will find out! Lol
I wish I could show you one of my homemade ebikes. That only cost me £400 to build for everything. 2000w 84v Mid Drive system with 3000w controller. With 12 speed at the back It's very powerful Only has a 20s 7p Battery Park. It is a scott racing bike converted into a mountain bike With air shock suspension Good hydraulic brakes And a lot more
Nice work bro, I have the sabvaton 72/200a, Can someone please show me how to add reverse feature to my e-bike ?, even though I don’t have reverse plug on my controller or the learning wires.
Hi from Melbourne 😂 I have a 500W bafang hub motor rear hub motor 48volt x 2o amh I'm going to sell it I want to buy the motor and control and a 60 volt x20 amh but the battery pack is so expensive could you give me some advice how to build .y own battery I will pay you some money.
Yeah, definitely it matters a battery is made from a factory with a small Amp bms means the cells are really not that good or the nickel strip are thin and will burn up if you bypass the bms.
its aluminium or steel frame ? you not worried its going to break ? after having 3 or 4 ebikes im thinking of making something similar but I already have QS205 and its a HEAVY motor compared to the usual 1500w mass production ones, I want something lighter as I don't need the capability to do 12KW on a mountain bike. I want my bike to be able to do at least 70 miles range though because on stealth bomber I only get about 60 miles range when going really slow.
Yes I was thinking that the aluminum frame would be too weak. But it's been holding up pretty well, the qs205 is heavy but lighter than the 273 but also you have a 2000w and 3000w motors which is lighter than the qs205.
@@E-bikeguy I see you got 2 bikes that are similar, are they both using the same motor ? yeah I want something light thats at least 2.5kw because I don't think I will notice much difference going from 1.5kw on my old bike to 2kw. I've seen that UPP makes triangle batteries that can go up to 3KW, not cheap though.
Yea my son's is 3kw bike we both have sabvoton controller and going for 1500 to 2.5kw will be a noticeable improvement not kick you butt feel. But you will feel it in torque
Hello E-bikeguy I need bit of advice, I have 2000w mtx kit, 60v 20ah battery the continuous current is 50bms and peak 150bms, my controller is 45a but I'm looking to get a 80a controller would my battery be OK? I don't know which bms to stay below, is it the 50bms or the 150bms? On most batteries it gives 2x bms ranges, continuous bms and max peak bms which one do I keep controller peak amps below? Thanks
bro i have like 1200 lipo 18650s that ive salvaged ill give you half of them ...plus free streaming and ppv for life if you help me speed up my aventon level 2 commuter... i live in clearwater fl...
@@E-bikeguy I just ordered an 80amp 20s BMS from Amazon. It's the Daly. I'll think it's pretty reliable. I'll let you know how it works. Should be able to just plug in the balance wires that are already on your pack, and do a little soldering for the main connections.
If you have not yet build s Dual Motor of using a Gear motor as the primary motor use with a 1500, 20000watt Gearless as a turbo booster, this set up will make e bike not only powerful but practical and energy efficient. Believe this set up is the best practical build for DIY projects. The total weight is not as heavy of using both gearless DD which are the heavier motors( mass weight of over 250lbs of rider and bike will stress ya brakes beyond the norm when over 24mph, dangerous if cable stresses of slipping when going downhill over ,24mph) over the gear motors and mid drives. You also do not have to install 2nd set of every accessories of using just the throttle bar and motor and battery cables(Gearless motors cut off of throttle) Display ok to add on if you need more then mph reading off of main display. The cruise control of gear motors is what makes using another gearless motor work together of being efficient of battery usage. This set up should be the Standard Set Up even in pro builds. Watched many DIY Duals and did not come across the set up Im using as the idea came from troubleshooting other ppl s builds of the obvious wrongs.
@@E-bikeguy Yes, it was the reason why I chose this set up as of watching other ppl s builds of mostly using 2 gearless 1500wstt and up with all the accessories added on. Seen builds when front forks bolt ends rip apart from the torque of using 2 motors along with the heavy weight of force when stopping. It's why I came up with the set up of using a 350 watt gear motor with 2000watt gearless but you can use smaller gearless motors in the 1000watt and under if you prefer. I'm only s buck 30 and e bike dual is only 79.,lbs. The weight is just right as not overkill for I would know having too much weight would not be practical due to bike s brake system along with the size of tired. If e bike over 100,lbs of the build it's best to use 3 to 4inch fat tires as tire pressure is part of the math of Duals.
How much would it cost to have you build a similar bike using an existing Bianchi frame I have (26”)? I have a seat suitable for it, but it needs everything else except, perhaps, the frame modification. Please include shipping charges from 14841.
I just bought a Schwinn Axum non-DP for $228 from Wal-Mart. My 2000w kit from NBPOWER should be here this weekend. Couldn't pass up the price on the Axum. The kit is 135mm dropout and was wondering if there is any issues with Axum's 141mm dropout? What u think?
Might just have to add a few washers but shout go on smoothly and the 2000w and 3000w have a 135mm drop out and it depends on what freewheel you put on
@@E-bikeguy yeah, the results from his experiment speak for themselves. I ordered from Amazon and it won't arrive until between October and November. That will give me time to dial it in before I push the motor. Reminds me of the CPU overclocking days 👍
That chain-slap issue you're having? In my last build I prevented it using this produce from Amazon:. ENLEE KRSEC Bike Frame Protection Tape Mountain Bike Protective Stickers. (Sorry can't link in the comments, but search using the text). Eventually the protective sticker wears out, but it's removable and you can put on another. I find the package has enough smaller stickers that you can have replacements for a while.
@@E-bikeguy this stuff acts like ablative armor. It gives up it's existence to protect the paint underneath. I've used it on my daughter's build (500+ w) and I've got a set for my son's build (1200w). I may add them to my bike, but it's 30 years old and the paint is already chipped.

I saw where the controller has a dedicated e-brake throttle so you can use variable Regen brake on a thumb throttle. I saw you can only set up those options through the PC, not Bluetooth. Do you plan to check that out?
@@E-bikeguy I got my kit with the Sabvoton 45a controller. It doesn't have a connection dedicated to e-brake throttle, so no variable e-brake. I'm guessing you can get e-brake to kick in when your low brake cutoff switch is tripped? I'm guessing you can set it to however strong you want? Would be nicer to have variable, but hopefully I get something. I'm still waiting for battery 😪
You can shunt mod your controller it's a free mod for more speed, but if you want to go into the 50mph territory then then a overhaul is in order lol what's your current setup?
Not really an ebike in my terms, more like an emotorbike. I can tell by the gearing not much pedalling will be done. Would be a blast to ride, but I got my ebike to pedal, already have a motorcycle. Not sure I want that much power in a walmart bike, I would find a better quality used. Interesting, all the same. - Cheers
It's easy to pedal then you think, I thought that also, but not too bad. I haven't had no issues with the bike it self, I pedal a lot just to workout and just to have fun on some dirt roads and atv trails.
It's dangerous, its bad and it's illegal as hell. This is a perfect example of what is going to bring electric biking down and ruin it for everyone. Thank you very much.
For your information sir I mainly ride off road this is not a road bike by any means I have a car to take me place to place and my brakes are fine just because my bike can go way faster than yours doesn't mean I should so with all due respect you just worry about your neck of the woods and worry about mine I respect everyone around me when I ride!!! Good day sir!!!!
If you got my previous text I deleted sorry did mean to send that yet but I do want to give you a bike to build for profit for you to have and then I can send you my bike so can build up my rad city power bike 2018 so send me your email please you just give away a 100 million dollar worth of game to the bike world my friend wooow!!!!
