After finding the back bone of the rod, do you want to fish with or against the spine? i understand that this will vary from casting to spinning set ups, but do you want the backbone/spine where the guides are or not? i would assume not. but you know what they say about that.
You put the glu for the grip than you just push all the glu to the bottom and wipe it off....i push glu in with a brush as i slide it down...thats why when i repair factory rods most of the grips have glue only on one side or just like none at all.... Just saying my way it puts glu in the whole thing.

It always irks me to go to the store and look at a high end rod that is not balanced by lining up the reel seat and guides on the spine. Why don't manufacturers do this?
delicious fishes Marketing. They figure hlurt all these made up technical words like "ultra power fiber technology" and you'll be too wowed to ask. And those who do ask are a minority that won't affect they're profits in the long run. So they cut all these corners to speed up production and offset those customers lost by volume sales. Blame the rest of the 95% that's dumb as fuck. They do this in every industry even food.

so on all the halibut rods i build i always double wrap the guides but i never under wrap the guides My main builds are the Eglass Graphite blend Rainshadow and Pacbay 5 foot 6in blanks . The manufacture told me from the first rod i built i could skip the under wrap because it was totally cosmetic . I would like your Input on this Gary Thanks

I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
It would be nice to make my own. Im older wanting to get me some rods my last rods ever to own. Been useing used rods for wile been running kids fishing group so I buy cheap rods reels baits and find special kids to give them tonic I do buy me new rod no more 30 40 at most ugly stick been well over 10 years ago. But if o get new I give away one mine I replaces. I own 8 bass rods reels no lie i have alot I buy swap trade to get fishing gear get good deal ill buy them. But mine I use its 8. If I get me new or used I give one away. Well after 15 years with my group and heart attack kidney failure its time to close the group. Ill never quit giving but done buying trading for them so much. But ive never had 8 new rods or reels. So been looking for red black reels found nice ones. I have head injury been forgetting. So colors help me. So I wish I could build 8 rods to match the baits I like to use. Red with green. Frogs and jigs. Top water red blue red black fave color swim baits think thats med heavy rod not shur still learning the rod to match the bait I just fished got alot fish lol. But ide like to finally match baits to rod reel maybe finally catch big one. But just red be worm fishing whcih hope alot plastoc use the same kinda rod. Be nice to only have 4 weights 2 each then eaxh rod fish 2 types baits. That way if I fill frog fishing get green and red rod. If o cant afford to go by color so far cant. Ill have to always have rod sock on rods. Or have to keep the bait on rod all time ill fisgure it out. Just hope to find someone here close to teach me ill need pitures prob. That way can teach the kids. Till I really sone with group. Suck though hope to never quit my group. Just c ant find someone to go with me all time. And I miss when starts to rain bass fishing or brim fishing but being disabed got my electeic scooter or wheel chair close. C ant get scooter wet. Under no circumstances should anyone allow epoxy to touch bare skin. It is extremely toxic and in time can lead to sensitisation - where any slight contact can bring on severe reactions. Quality nitrile gloves should be used to prevent any contact with mixed or unmixed epoxy. I like the skill, I do not like the apparent attitude that this stuff is harmless - it is very dangerous, has no safe exposure limit. and can drastically shorten your life span if you do not protect yourself.
