Ken, you should be proud of the efforts you put. Loved the detailed explanation. Would love to watch a short settings on marketplace too although there are plenty of other materials on RU-vid, your detailed explanation are really worth praise. Just a little suggestion, you can remove the background score. Honestly, it's distracting despite very low at volume. Otherwise, things are awesome. Cheers mate! Love from India.
Hi @sauravagarwal8928, thank you so much for your kind words about the course! I'm glad you appreciated the detailed explanations, and I apologize for the delayed response. I've been busy preparing my next course, which I'm excited to share with you. Speaking of which, you'll be pleased to know that there's no background music in the newest course - it's just me explaining the concepts. It's now live on my RU-vid channel, so feel free to check it out! Once again, thank you for your support, and I hope you find the new course just as helpful. Happy learning!
Thanks for the kind words, @learnTheWebByProject! I'm glad you found the explanation clear, easy, and useful. That's always the goal! If you ever get stuck, just know you can always reach out to me.
Hi Ken, have been watching your video again and again! But can I edit the 'My Courses' page with Elementor? I can't seem to find how to do this. Hope you can help.
Hi @caitlinvandevelde, apologies for the delayed response. I'm back now and ready to help! Did you manage to find a solution? If not, please share more details about the issue, including whether you used the Astra theme and followed the method I shared in the course. A screenshot would also be helpful. Let me know, and I'll do my best to assist you!
I have completed my first web site but you forgot to explain how to build the registration page and the log in page.. really you are wonderful. do you have a video for these pages?
Hello @pioneerinphysics6304, I have been an Academy LMS user since January. I liked this plugin a lot because of its amazing features and high potential. In my e-learning website, I created student registration, instructor registration, and login pages simply using shortcodes. Also, they have an amazing add-on called Academy Elementor add-ons which helps me to customize my necessary pages easily according to my own. Also, with the help of this add-on I can easily drag and drop the instructor, student, and login widgets to create these pages.
wow Sir ❤❤ 1 question please you just set the course add to cart and student enrolled. If we want to set the course as monthly or yearly basis than what should we do??
Hi @hamzaash. Thanks for your inquiry. Sounds like you're talking about a subscription type setup. To achieve that, you can use a membership plugin like MemberPress. You can buy it affordably on marketplaces like WorldPressIT.Com or GPLPlus.com.
Hello, can you please explain in a video how to make the login section work correctly and direct the student to the (desktop) section where the courses are located so they can start viewing them?
Greetings @edwardgarciamunoz9343. Thanks for joining me in this course. Your valuable request has been received. Am not very sure how soon I can have it ready due to time constraints, but I've added to my to-do list.
Could you help me? I followed your tutorial and started my own website. I added TutorLMS and created some simple video courses, however TutorLMS effected my posts and turn them into courses. Is there a way I can stop TutorLMS to effect my posts?
Hi @lubodimoff9176. I'm assuming you have published posts/articles on your website. If that's the case, make sure you place them in their respective categories. For example, you can create a category called "Articles" or "Blog Posts" to represent your posts. Then when you create a new blog post, assign it to that category. Do the same for your courses. Create a category called "Courses" and assign it to each of your courses. To display only courses on your Courses archive page, choose only the content assigned the "Courses" category. To display only the blog posts on your Blog Posts archive page, choose the "Articles" or Blog Posts" category. For more info, please look for tutorials on how to work with WordPress categories. If you're completely unable to find a solution, you can book a one-on-one call with me so we can discuss your project. Check out the pinned comment or the video description for the link.
Hello, thank you very much for your explanation, but I have a problem in the header that comes by default in the tutor starter, it is only visible on the certificate page, not on the other pages. What can it be? Thanks
Thanks a lot for watching, Alejandro. I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what you mean. But, to make sure the any header is visible on all pages, make sure you create it by first going into ElementsKit>Header and Footer>New. Once you've named your new header in the popup that comes up after clicking "New", make sure you select "Entire Site" under the "Conditions" field. That will make sure it visible eon the entire site.
@@kenkioqqo Hi, thanks for your reply, I contacted the theme support and they told me that the certificate page in TUTOR comes out the default header of the theme and it is not possible for now to place the header created in the kit.
Thats an awesome tutorial. How do we create a classroom training page? We want to sell a classroom training that doesnt have any tutorial. So the course page is exactly the same, but it doesnt have a start course button. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hey Nizami, thanks for reaching out. You can actually find the images and more at Freepik. That's where I get all my images. Just follow this link and find thousands of vectors: www.freepik.com/author/stories . Let me know if you need anything else.
Congratulations for the videos. I'm doing the same as the video, but with Elementor. In the header and footer with Elementor in the registration page using kadence Theme, it always gives error or is without formation. Any suggestion? How can I make it work?
Typically, when you experience loading speed issues in WordPress, it could be a symptom of a wide array of underlying issues. For example, limited resources allocated to your website by your web host if you're using a Shared Hosting plan, heavy unoptimized images uploaded to the Media Gallery, slow-loading plugins installed, etc. If you've not yet installed plugins and your setup is slow, your issue might not be plugins, and if you've not uploaded heavy unoptimized images, that leaves your hosting plan as the most likely culprit. If yours is a production-grade website, consider securing a better "DEDICATED" hosting plan for smoother performance. But, I might be wrong since I've not seen your exact setup. Hope this helps.
Hey, @iramparveen I just converted my e-learning business to Academy LMS plugin. I'm using Astra theme with Academy LMS. I did not face any issues. My users also told me that my site is running very smoothly. I'm very much satisfied using Academy LMS.
Hi @JWCHERBALSOLUTIONS. To be in a better position to help you, I might need more information on your setup. But, generally, a 404 error message typically means the page cannot be found. That means your WordPress might not be set up correctly to find the course page you created.
Thanks for reaching out, @faithmaduka. Tutor LMS is FREE to install and use. In the course, we use the FREE version of the plugin, which means no money spent.
Hey, @alroygama6166. Thanks for watching! I don't think Tutor LMS offers the ability to add an OTP verification feature to your sign-up or sign-in forms right out of the box. You might have to improvise that one. Look for something like "WordPress OTP setup" here on RU-vid.
The great thing about WordPress is that you have the freedom to be as creative as you want, and you can use different methods to achieve the same goal. This is just one approach I've used. Feel free to experiment with FOMO plugins such as RafflePress (Recently bought by WP Beginner) or FOMO (by TrustPulse) to enrich your course page.
This is amazing and has been a big help. Thank you. I must ask though, do you have any guides on how to change the log-in popup when someone presses the enrol button? The rest of my website theme is black with white font, while the pop up window comes up white, with white font - the customers cant read it. Any guidance would be amazing please Ive also had a some trouble with the course archive, student registration and the dashboard - they are all having issues with my header, and I cant function the appropriate padding to make it all align/sit right. Also any videos or direction on this would be incredible please
update: Ive used a minor CSS tweak to adjust the log in box. The main issue for me now is the dashbourd, course archive and student registration form clashing with my header
Thanks a lot for the kind feedback,@@shaunleggett2961. And I'm glad you were able to update the login form with some custom CSS. I'm not quite sure I clearly understand the issue you're experiencing with the "dashboard", "course archive" and "student registration form". Are you having an issue finding the right CSS selectors for elements on those pages to add custom padding? How exactly are they clashing with the header? A little more context would really help paint clearer picture of the situation.
Can I create my own virtual classroom thanks to this video? Quizzes assignments and other? Can I add a lesson video to anyone I want whenever I want? (my goal is to prevent my classes from being distributed).
Yes indeed, Nizami. This tutorial is all about how to create virtual classrooms without spending money on premium plugins. The courses you create cannot be distributed by the students to other people because a user must create an account to take a course, even if the course is free (But that's optional - You can make it available for non-logged-in users). You can also set a price for each course. You also have the option to create as many quizzes and assignments as you want in any course you create. Hope this answers your question.
Hey, @sandilp3537. Thanks so much for pointing that out. I'll be publishing a new course on this same subject in about a week or two to reflect the new updated WordPress and Elementor. While WordPress and all its plugins are constantly being updated to improve user experience and security, the underlying way that WordPress works remains consistent. So the underlying principles taught in this course remain relevant no matter which version of WordPress and Elementor you're using.
Thanks.... I am at a point of-- I am stuck on your course and I need to move forward.. Please please. hurray...You have the best one and I know others who have used your 2023 course setup.@@kenkioqqo
@@kenkioqqo Hi Ken...It is now Fre 2024.. I am behind schedule....Did you o an update as you mentioned? I have numerous days, tie..looking through many of the platforms that offers course builders.I find many, take you ownership away, or they claim to sell you content at will and you have no recourse on that. ( people need to read the fine print details). Then there are many limitations for starting free.. So with that said I want to follow your instructions and do it myself. You are offering th e best of the best. Dust so you know. I am up to the part of your course. in creating the video. I have questions fir you. Is there a way to consult with you
Hey,@@IBKNW! Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in my courses. Really appreciate that! I'm glad you reminded me about the updated WordPress and Elementor course I mentioned. I apologize for the delay in releasing new content on my RU-vid channel, as I got occupied with publishing courses on Skillshare. However, I'm excited to share that I have a new plan for 2024! This year, I'm focusing more on publishing on RU-vid because I already have several courses on Skillshare. Starting towards the end of February, I plan on publishing a new WordPress + Elementor course every week on this channel. The first course that I'm already preparing to publish before the end of Feb will focus on creating a fundraising website. Following that, the second course will be a new version of the "Build an Online Course Platform with Elementor" course, and it will be published in the first week of March. If you have any questions about the upcoming courses or need help with this course, feel free to reach out to me via email: ken@wordpresseverything.com. In your email, please provide a detailed description of what you're trying to achieve and where you're stuck. I'm always happy to assist you in your learning journey. Once you've emailed me, please make sure you alert me to check mail (by replying to this comment) because I don't check that email regularly. Once again, thanks for your interest in my content and for your patience with me. I'm looking forward to sharing more informative and engaging courses with you this year!
Honestly i am enjoying your work. But please i have a concern, the courses are uploaded as videos, is there a way one can upload the courses as a text instead of videos?
Thanks so much for the feedback bro. Sure thing...you can create courses as text without any videos. Simply do this: 1. Under any of your "Topics", click "Lesson" to create a new lesson. Like we did at timestamp 56:16 . 2. A popup will appear for you to provide details of that particular lesson. You can then go ahead and paste you text in the text placeholder provided in that popup. It's labeled as "Lesson Content". Don't paste any video links in the "Video Source" field. 3. Do this for the rest of the lessons. 4. After that, you now have a text-based course rather than a video-based one. I hope that helps.
Good day, can i create this without adding a woocommerce option, if i want it to be completely free, the reason am asking is because as i was following the video i skipped the woocommerce part but when i click start learning to go to course content it gives me ERROR 404 PAGE NOT FOUND
Thanks for joining me in the course, @makharilesley236. You can build a free online course website with Tutor LMS without the need for WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads if you only plan to offer free courses. Just make sure under the `Monetization` tab in the Tutor LMS settings you set the configuration of the `Select eCommerce Engine` field to `Disable Monetization`. Setting it up like that will mean students will not see any payment buttons. If you want to sell paid courses in addition to free ones, that's when you should integrate a payment engine like WooCommerce to handle payments for the paid courses while keeping the free courses free of charge. It's a bit unclear why you are seeing a 404 page when you click `Start Learning`. To help debug you issue, I might need some more context on your entire setup. But, in a nutshell, you can offer your courses for free without integrating a payment system, and students can enroll and start learning. Another way to offer courses from free is by integrating a payment system like WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads as I've shown in the course, and while creating a new course, set it as a FREE course in the settings shown at around timestamp 41:02. Let me know if you have more questions.
Do you know of a free LMS that allows audio lessons instead of video? I tried tutor and it let's me upload audio but won't play. I emailed them and they said they don't support audio at this time. I've tried googling and can't find anything. I know thinkific allows audio lessons but in order to do multiple courses you have to pay. I love that tutor LMS allows multiple courses for free but I can't use it because I don't want the big bulky video for each lesson. I want mostly audio lessons. Any advice would be amazing!!!
Hey, I used it multiple times that's why I recommend you use Academy LMS for adding audio to your lesson content. You can use audio in Academy LMS free versions easily. No pro version is required. You can easily add audio from the lesson editor.
I have a question... If I want my course website to be on 2 languages for example English & French.. And there are courses on English and French.. Can I do it to show only English courses when the user selected English language and only French courses when the user selected French language of the website? :)
That's a very good question, @veselinasenov4545. Unfortunately, I don't think Tutor LMS has that filter for the courses at the moment. You might have to custom-code it yourself.
From my experience you can achieve this easily using Academy LMS plugin. They have course filter option where you can add English course & French course category. By clicking category options users can easily find the courses in English and in French. Also, Academy LMS has amazing video tutorial about how to create a multilingual site using Academy LMS. You can try Academy LMS to achieve this.
Please help! Since the comments are the only place to ask for help. Been trying to get help on this: I want to make a course marketplace using tutor LMS. Rather than having “purchase once (buy now)” on each course, is it possible to have customers subscribe to the tutors’ courses? If not, is there an alternative.
Hey Thadddeus, thanks a lot for subscribing. It really means a lot. To answer your question, I have two options I would recommend: 1. A membership plugin called BuddyBoss, which is based on BuddyPress and can help you create a social media-like membership website with LearnDash or Tutor LMS (bit.ly/3XZQbDb) 2. A plugin called MemberPress. It's perfect for creating a subscription-based online course website and works well with Elementor (memberpress.com/) Now, both these plugins are a bit expensive if you decide to buy them from their official websites, but if you want to get them at insanely affordable prices (Like $5), you can buy them and any other WordPress plugins from a marketplace like WorldPressIT.Com. The reason for their low prices on WordPress plugins is that these are all open-source technologies, and anyone can redistribute them. Usually when you pay a premium from the official creator of the plugin, you are paying for customer support in case you need help after purchase. WorldPressIT will just sell the plugin to you and not support you if you get stuck. But the good thing is that there are always solutions to problems you might encounter online. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Hey,@@thaddeusz0for some reason, I've not yet received you email in the inbox I provided. Probably has something to do with the server on which the emails are hosted. You can also forward it to my Gmail: mrmoneybagzchannel@gmail.com
Yes indeed,@@mathayothomas6429 . You can use an M-Pesa WooCommerce plugin to accept payments on the website. Once you've set it up, during checkout, the customers will see M-Pesa as one of the payment options. Check out these examples of M-Pesa plugins: bit.ly/3YDu3yN
I reset everything and started over. I've added draft tutorials. Instead of "start learning" there is only "view cart". And that's why I can't see the part at 1:03:21 I shared it on youtube for you to see. You can reach it from the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PFVp-_Xh1nw.html How can I solve it?
I love tis video, very informative , in depth and easy to follow. Thankyou for making this video. I will re-watch it again when I get my company. I have saved it to my playlist for a future revisit.
Hello, I created and linked YT api, but when I pase link from YT it shows all controls as normally embeded video. On your screen it does not show that. Is there a special setting?
You can try the Academy LMS to run your YT and other embedded videos smoothly. Also, you can protect your content. Recommended from personal experience!😉
Hey, great course, but I miss the courses in the my course-page. They won't appear automatically and I can't find a solution to add them over the blocks or to generate it automatically. So, do you have a tipp for this situation, if (perhaps) the my-cours-site ist deleted?
Hi, @user-mk4jk1df3o, thanks for your inquiry. Anyone with a screen capture software can record the video lessons while watching them. This is the same for almost any video-sharing platform, from Netflix, to Udemy to RU-vid to the course website you're building now. Hope that answers your question.
Hi, Ken great video and I am enjoying working my way through. I have created the menu with my logo and details etc. but can't see how I remove the Elements Kit header with its email and NY address etc. Its sits above my menu Cheers Wayne
Hi Wayne, glad to hear you're enjoying the course. This kind of feedback keeps me motivated to create more tutorials. So thanks a lot. If you followed the course step by step, deleting that section is simple. Press Ctrl + I to open the Navigator and click the topmost section in the Navigation list to select the topmost section on the page (which is the section you're interested in), right click it and press Delete Section. That should get rid of the entire section above your menu. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
Hi @sporksto4372, thanks for your inquiry. To help you, I might need you to be more specific, since this is a relatively long course. What timestamp did you get stuck at?
@@kenkioqqo It's 20:50. I've created a blank page and set it as the course archive page to display a list of my courses. But, the page is still empty. What else do I need to do to ensure my courses become visible?
Thanks for the clarification,@@sporksto4372. I' assuming you went to "Dashboard>Pages>Add New" and created a new page called "My Courses" as per the instructions, and then set the page as the Course Archive in the Tutor LMS settings. Did you already have any courses created and if not, have you created any? If you don't have any courses created, the page won't have any courses to display. At the same time, please remember these plugins are constantly being updated by their developers, and processes might change from time to time. Overall, I would advise you to go back and follow every step exactly as shown in the course without skipping anything. If that doesn't work, I might need to see your setup to be able to help you further as at the moment I don't know exactly how you've set up everything.
@@kenkioqqo Thanks for the answer. I've currently deployed 3 courses. But, I think it might be necessary to add a widget to the page to retrieve the courses if they don't appear on their own. Is my understanding correct? I currently use Elementor.
That's weird,@@sporksto4372. Once you've set the Archive Page, it should show the three courses right off that bat. But I like your thinking. See if you can add a widget to the page. You can also use the Tutor LMS Elementor plugin, which comes with its own widgets.
I salute man. You are the tutor of step by step instructions for a new student to learn. Keep up the good work. I will be following up the other tutorials that you will be bringing. God bless!
It's a great honor, @abelchibona407. Am happy to know that you found the step-by-step tutorial valuable and easy to follow. Stay tuned for more courses.

Thanks for being so clear and having so many details! I am wondering how to add the categories I have created on tutor LMS for my courses into my hope page and have an icon or image for each category, so when someone visit my site they can be directed to each category if the click the icon. Can you help me with this?
Hey Joel, thanks a lot for your kind feedback. It means a lot. To create the categories on your Home page, follow this: 1. On your Home page, create a new Section with 3 columns (Or the number of columns you want). 2. In the first column, add an "Icon Box" element from the Elementor elements column (Or the tool Box) on the left side of your screen. Just type "Icon Box" in the search bar of the Elementor elements column. 3. With the Icon Box element added, select it to bring up its settings in the Elementor elements column. 4. Now, following the editing method you've learned so far, you simply need to edit the different features of the "Icon Box" by goinginside the "Content" tab, "Style" Tab and "Advanced" tab. 5. Once you're satisfied with the Icon Box in the first column you've created, duplicate that column to create more columns with Icon Boxes within the section. You can duplicate that section to create another row of Icon Boxes below the first one. 6. Delete all the empty columns in the section(s) because you have duplicated the columns that have Icon Boxes. And that's it. If you want to use an image on each category instead of an icon, you can simply add an Image Box instead of an Icon Box from the Elementor elements column (Tool Box). I hope this helps. Once again, thanks a lot for your continued support.
@@kenkioqqo thank you so much for taking the time to answer! I’m just wondering how this icons can be linked to the actual courses related to that category that are in another page? So when people click that icon they are redirected to the courses falling under that category.
@@joelmontes9958, for that, you will need to do this: 1. Create a page for each category of courses. E.g., Engineering 2. Populate each of those pages with the courses in their respective category only. E.g., for Engineering page, populate the page with engineering courses only. 3. Copy the URL/link of each of those pages and paste it into the Icon Box of its respective category. E.g., Open the Engineering page, copy its URL from the address bar, then open the Home page and go to the Engineering Icon Box and select it, then paste the URL inside the URL section under the "Content" tab of the Icon Box. 4. Repeat this for each category
Quick update,. Here's a part in the course where we actually work with an Icon Box: 2:14:10. So you will paste your categories' URLs inside the "Read More" area of the Icon Box's "Content" tab.
@@kenkioqqo There is no image element. I deletet completely. I deleted the logo insertion space. There is only one part that is "home, my courses, pricing, dashboard"
Oh, if I'm getting you right, you deleted the column that was holding the logo. So that means you're left with only the column that is holding the menu. In that case, do the following: 1. Select the column that is holding the menu (The column is the one with a dark gray border) 2. Duplicate the column. Simply hover over the top left corner of the column and when your mouse cursor is on the corner icon, right click and select "Duplicatec Column" 3. You now have two columns, each having the menu element. Choose the duplicate that is on the left side and delete its menu. 4. Drag an image element into it from the settings area on the left 5. You can now replace the plaholder image with your logo
