How to Build a Garage #6 Metal Siding

How to Build a Garage #7 is about installing our house wrap as well as installing wainscot and the necessary trims needed to assure the building looks crisp and clean. Check out that custom branded housewrap and let me know if it's worth paying for your logo or is it a waste since it gets covered up quickly. We are able to install most of our wainscot as well!
Also, we had a huge disappointment which led us to not be able to install any windows!!
I wanted to put all the exterior wall steel in one video but it was too much, so stay tuned, hit that subscribe button or turn on your channel notifications, so you don't miss the next episode.

Kyle, Thanks for the effort you go to on youtube and instgram making these videos and posts. We really enjoy watching them, I have been in the building game for 30 years. and if you ever think you know it all and can't learn anything new. It's time to get out of the game!! We build differently here in Australia, but there are still plenty of things we can adapt from watching you guys to our buildings down under.

Love the videos! I am a maintenance planner at the Kimberly Clark mill that makes Block-It. Thanks for using our material. I'm planning to build a 30' X 40' shop this summer. I think I'm going to build from a concrete slab with stud walls and use your steel and trim techniques on exterior and interior. Thanks for the videos and great details. If you were in north Mississippi I would want you to build it.

It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ru-vid.comUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

We had that exact same thing happen on a couple of our jobs as well where the windows laid out in the sun and got warped. One things that has helped us is have the delivery driver put the windows and walk doors in the customers garage or outbuilding if it’s available to keep them out of the sun. Thanks for the content Kyle.

no sure if you still read new comments on older videos, but I can add a little to what you said about vapor screen, because you seemed to be unsure about "down south" and you were right to be unsure about what you said... Vapor screen is always supposed to go on the inside, because even when heavily airconditioned "down south" you're never going to set the room temperature to be lower than the dew point. Dew point is the temperature where the humidity in the air starts condensing. Basically it means that in a negative gradient (hot to colder) the amount of humidity that can be in the air as vapor goes down, which makes the relative humidity go up as temperature drops. If the cold end of the gradient has a temperature lower than the dewpoint of the air (also relative to air pressure, altitude and presence of aerosol particles) then somewhere along that gradient the humidity from the warmer air will start condensing because that's where the temperature passes the dew point. Vapor screen is to keep humidity from being present in the area where that temperature occurs. Let's say that your in a really really extreme area where day time always hits 100% humidity and water condenses on any surface in the shadow (subtropical jungle weather), in that case it might be useful to have a vapor screen on both sides, because during the day the condensation might occur on the outside. Still in those areas, at night the situation will be reverse and you'll still want that vapor screen on the inside. So rule of thumb: vapor screen always on the inside; in extreme humid climates also on the outside. But in those cases it's just better to use a type of insulation that is not sensitive to humidity and can be considered to be a vapor screen on its own (like PUR).

awesome job guys. This is just the video that I needed. I am either building one myself or getting one built, time restraints say that I will probably be paying someone to do it, but it sure is nice to see an in depth video about it. My cottage is in northern lower peninsula in Michigan and that's where mine is going, probably a 40'x80'. Keep up the good work, there are a lot of hacks out there and I'm glad to see your not one of them
