In this video, we start building the aluminium Fuselage! This video explains the design of the fuselage and some general concepts for it. This fuselage is built to attach to the hydrofoil wings and is modular so that you can build different hydrofoil wings and attach/swap them on the fuselage by simply screwing them on directly. This Fuselage video series will be broken up into 4 videos that explain how to build a hydrofoil fuselage from home, from start to finish. As well as the planning and design of the fuselage, we also mark out and drill the holes for the foil wing connections screws and the holes to connect to the mast.
Building a fuselage out of aluminium is, in my opinion, the best way to make a hydrofoil fuselage from home. Undoubtedly a Carbon Fibre fuselage is better when made in a factory, but from home, the use of aluminium makes the construction easy, strong and durable. For that reason, I think the alloy fuse is best for this series and still works great for foiling!!
Can you make your own hydrofoil?
In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to make a hydrofoil from home. By design, the foil construction helps remove critical mistakes that people can make, leaving them with a hydrofoil that won't fly.
