I will live in town and I have no intention of moving to the country. And I’m 75 years old but I love watching these kind of videos I don’t know why I love it so much maybe it’s a dream maybe I want to make of my head and I just don’t have the strength or the willpower to do it. But it’s still fun watching you run your small little place and building that nice little chicken coop and just reminds me of a calmer peaceful life. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie thanks for another project at another great video
More space is always good. If we didn’t have a dog and predators, we may have been able to free range. This setup will hopefully protect while still giving them fresh grass and bugs
I'm glad that you did a build video for this coop! This design is so cool. I especially love the feeding/watering systems. Y'all put a lot of thought in this build. Your chickens will have a happy life in their new home. Safe from those coyotes and still getting fresh grass haha
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with how the water and feed system worked out. Time will tell how well they work long term.🤞 So far, we have not had any loss to predators with these chickens or our meat chickens from this spring. Our dog Lucy probably has something to do with that 😀
It really came out beautifully. Super impressed with the water & feed set up. Very glad to hear I’m not the only one who has to take multiple trips to the hardware when doing a project. LOL😊
I love the concept of a mobile chicken coop. What a great idea to be able to relocate it every few days. That's awesome that you were able to repurpose so many materials from your home build. Your chickens should be very happy in this home 🏡 🐣🐤🐥
Excellent video! Straight to the point and informative! You guys are so handy. I had to buy plans for our coop. Our 13 chickens already turned into 22. Darn chicken math! 😬
Thanks! Yeah, our chicken math is probably about the same as yours. We currently have 5 chickens, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that number magically doubles in the near future 😂
Thanks! We like the mobile aspect of ours, however we are limited on how many chickens we can have. So far, the limited number of chickens hasn’t been a probably though -Ryan
Fabulous build guys! You all are self-sufficient and it matches the house, how cool is that! I'm considering Barred Rock and or Rhode Island reds but only need 4 ....to start😆
I’m doing a somewhat similar design but am not quite finished yet. Taking some of your great ideas though. Especially the cantilever wheel system. Thank you!
Thanks! Glad you liked the video! I told Cara before that all the structures we will build around the house are going to look similar to the house haha 😂 - Ryan
“I got a new toy-I mean tool..” That is so my husband and I 😂👌🏻 Awesome build! Thank you for sharing how you built your coop. It is absolutely adorable. I like that you were able to use leftover materials you already had laying around. Very nice 👌🏻 It sure does resemble your home!
New projects call for new toys 😁. It always feels good to have a project where we can utilized those extra materials. I won’t know what to do one day when they are all used up 😂
Thanks! It feels good to be able to work on a project and not have to buy too many materials. I’m spoiled for sure. I won’t know what to do when we run out of these materials 😁
Heyyy Fam !!! What an amazing chicken coop! You should so make these and sell them ! This is like Hotel California for Chickens !!! Great Video !! I have subscribed and tuning in for more ! God Bless You !!! 🥰
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the videos! We are definitely planning to have more of this type of video as we keep developing and building out our homestead. -Ryan
It’s a seriously fancy chicken coop! It would cost a fortune to buy in the shops. My poor hens are in sub standard housing compared with your posh birds!🤣
If you would like to join in with us on Monday feel free to do it anytime you’d like you don’t have to be committed to every Monday once in a while maybe share a half page that you’ve been doodling in or maybe a full page maybe talk about it maybe not whatever you feel like doing it’s a free thing to jump in and share whatever you’ve done is no stress or pressure on this. And you can put it up anytime on Monday
Just remember the #coloring party with friends. You do not have to capitalize the word coloring as I get it I should’ve taken off but I was lazy should’ve made it lowercase
Very nice build!👍👏 Cool that you had some material leftover from your house. My son recently got 3 chickens, he has a metal coop, but you never know when he may need to expand. Last night there was a skunk by the coop, inside his privacy fenced in yard.😯 We're trying to figure out if it went over or under it.😉 Have a blessed weekend!🌅
Awesome design guys !! You must've saved a fortune with this build. I've seen some prices on line and the one you built would go for alot !! How many birds can it hold ? Awesome video guys !! Cheers J&C 🌱🐔🌱
This coop is cool. How sturdy is the coop seeing as u only used 2x2 except for the bottom, i ask because i want to use 2x2 in my design as well for weight reasons but not if it can be broken.
Love the coop. Would love to build one just like it. Would like to know how the feeder and waterer are holding up? Have you had any problems with them leaking (waterer) or clogging(feeder)? Would you change anything about the design?
Hi! 😊 loved your video & the design so much I am currently on the verg on building our very own! Is there a list of materials you used that would be helpful at my nearest lumber yard ???
Thank you! At this time we do not have a sketched out copy of our plans, just the videos. We have been thinking about drawing one up. Ryan wants to take the time to do it right if he does it. We will be sure to post an update video in the future though 😊
No sorry, we don't have the full material list or plans yet. It is something we made as we went. Ryan is planing on making a set of plans and more details when we build our second coop sometime this winter hopefully. -Cara
Our main reason for doing this is so that the food doesn’t get wet in any rain and also to keep other animals/rodents from getting easy access to it. Also if we need to close the door and keep the chickens inside for any reason they can still have food and water.
I’ve not raised chickens but I was wondering what keeps a predator from digging under the run at night or are the chickens secured every evening in the coop?
Good morning my friend!!! This is a well-made video, thank you so for sharing I really appreciate your hard work and dedication you put into your content, I leave a thumbs up and my support 🎁 stay bless and have your self a awesome day. ( LIKE 22 ❤️🤍❤️🤍❤️🤍)
We purchased them at Lowes. I believe they were 8" universal run flat wheels. Slightly bigger wheels might better though if you have variable terrain. -Ryan
