Used your side dimensions to build a back yard garden bench. Used the angles from another video. That way I had a sloped seat as well as the back. Used 2x4s for the back and seat instead of 1x4s. Thanks for the help. Turned out really great!

Great plans! I used pressure treated lumber because cedar is hard to come by and expensive these days and widened it by 2 inches. I also beefed up the seat and back slats with 5/4 PT deck treads because I had them left over. Very Happy with the outcome. Once it dries out I'll seal it and paint it and it should last a heck of a long time!
@MrGoblue1131
@MrGoblue1131 2 года назад
Same here. Using treated lumber and having it sit 2 inches higher. I have my kids (and my handyman) building it RN for fathers day. Will last forever and mean tons when my handyman friend is dead and my kids are out of the house. It will be more than a chair to me.

What kind of wood putty do you use? Because I've used wood putty in the past that said stainable but when I go to apply stain it shows where the screws are. Thanks for any info, keep up the projects I love them!!! 👍
@DIYPETE
@DIYPETE 4 года назад
Thanks Doug! I use a minwax putty. You can still see them although it helps blent and looks better than the screw. I'll sometimes take a little paint brush and do a second dab just on the putty to help darken it.
