Laura I can tell you have been working on it ... so planned out. There is no one doing this idea out there that I have found so far. I like your personality and easy listening voice. You are straight to the point and can follow what you’re sharing very easily. I wish we lived closer! Way over in Oregon here 👏. Love it Here my whole life. I don’t actually have a scrapbooking buddy right now, but utube has been so awesome that way. But I guess we need to wait anyway to hold even a small gathering. I sure need organizing help and I get motivation plus excitement from you. I am going to start today! Yes so looking forward to seeing your current kit all put together.... you have chosen a nice selection ... when might that be ? ...thank you so much 😊 Kim oh p.s. .... your preference of a die cutting machine?
Thank you, Kim! Yes, I've been planning this one for a couple of months. I miss my scrapping buddies too! Fingers crossed that we can resume crops and retreats in 2021, I miss them so much! I'll be using the kit 1-2 videos a week and at the end of the month, I'll share all of the layouts I made with it. I've been prepping it the last couple of days, getting organized and fussy cutting. Excited to dive in!
Well done Laura! You are so fun and motivating! TFS! (And I've watched your fussy cutting tutorial. I IMMEDIATELY ordered your two favourite scissors. I still can't fussy cut but I love my new scissors. Haha!)
Laura, it was nice to work "with you" in my scrap room while watching this today! You inspired me to go through my stash and pull items to round out my month-in-review kit. (Giving that a try this year.) I found all sorts of lonely pieces that will work, many that are several years old. Thanks for sharing this advice.
That's awesome! Yes, I thought it would be more interesting to see how things are set up and my process as well as what I picked. I love when others share their process and thoughts while assembling a kit! Thanks for joining me in building a stash kit!
Wow! Wow! And wow! Love this video, Laura. I love learning the “why” we pick certain papers, not just “how we put them together.” It reminds me when I graduated from kindergarten into first grade. It was time for focus and not just free play. I’m love, love LOVIN’ it! 👍💕👏🤗
Love this idea and the papers went together amazingly well. I've never done a "stash" kit before but I think it's a great idea. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this kit. Thanks for sharing. Jeanette, New Zealand.
Thank you, Jeanette! Yes! I love it when I find those hidden treasures that work well with older collections too! It's a great way to make your stash feel new!
Hey Laura and Happy New Year! I've been so out of my scrapbooking this past year. I have a hot mess in the craft room to clean and organize before I can even get started again. However you are the best at inspiring me so thank you. This video is perfect for where I'm at! You're the best❤
You're welcome! I think this is the year we all need to take a step back and look at what we have. I am getting that feeling from a lot of people! Stash busting is always a good idea!
My Oh My This was so interesting and fun!!! I’d have never made up a kit either. However I do have all my paper pads in 12 x 12 iris cases according to theme!! Then have my other supplies in drawers and know what’s there to grab.....I do love your idea of how you put things together.and I love your paper storage system and when I room get redone we are talking about a paper storage system on the order of what you have!! Thanks so much for sharing in great detail and actually making it a visual Share and I know you sure out lots of hours preparing your tutorial...and girl you did a spectacular one!! You really do have fabulous goodies and I do love and adore the way you scrap!! I M looking forward to your year long series!! YOU so ROCK!! Joan Smith
Thank you very much, Joan! I used to use Iris containers too and realized that I need open storage to invite me to use my stash! Oh yes, tutorials do take several hours to prep, film, and edit! This one has been planned and prepped for about a month, an hour and a half to film, and then LOTS of editing! I really enjoy the process though!
@@lauraalbertscrafts You Know Kiddo it’s important for you to know You are Loved. Appreciated and give inspiration like crazy and love how you always keep it real!!!! BIG hugs. MUCH LOVE. 🙏😘❤️
Thank you so much Laura. A new subscriber here from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺. Great inspiration for a new year of catching up on albums using all those papers and products 💖💖🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love this idea. For me it's always about the photos, so I think I would instinctively want to do a theme. I have premade pages in the past & not really had ideas for pictures in mind, and they tend to go to waste (well, they get used but not by me). Love your paper organization. I have been keeping companies together & I I don't think that fits for me anymore - mostly because I have some gorgeous older (we're talking Chatterbox, here) paper that I genuinely love. I want to use it and I keep going to newer companies I love. I will keep themed paper (Christmas, birthday) together... I don't have as much of that anymore (again...my tastes/style has changed).
I pull photos after I assemble my kit because that’s how my brain works. I don’t often know how I will scrap them until I sit down to do it. Definitely make your stash fit your scrappy style! I’ve had to modify mine often to make it work well for my style.
@@lauraalbertscrafts When you say assemble the kit, do you include actually designing a layout, or just finding all the stuff (paper & embellishments & title components), then later when you have pics, going through those kits & saying, "Aha! This one will work! That I could see being effective for me. I just can't commit to a design before I choose pics.

Great tips ... think I am going to give this a go during 2021. I have never found a stash busting method I’m happy with. So I’m excited to give this a try 😍. Also love your craft room I am so impressed at how organised it is xx
Love this as I have just started my childhood memories album bought embellishments but no paper as I have loads, not as much as you though 🙄... Am looking forward to seeing how you make layouts with this kit. X
Oh so you will be making separate items with all those goodies? I was picturing one or two 12x12 scrapbook pages... 😂 lol.. funny Kim.. ok thanks looking forward to seeing your creative ideas!
Hi laura do you have videos on beginner journal. I would appreciate some tips. I’m very sad and I’ve watche you four years so my husband is going to tell me the stories while I attempt to journal them. You inspire me on sharing your family’s personal stories when I’m sad I put on your inspiring videos thank you.
Sending you lots of hugs, Gerry. I do have a beginner scrapbooking series here on youtube that I hope will help. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-My8pXeDMsmo.html
I forgot two questions... in your paper organizing.... a lot of paper comes double sided now, and one side is often a tone on tone. So how do you decide which category to put it in if one side is multi coloured & one isn't? And with the 6x6 pads... why not pull out some of the papers that go the best with the kit you're making? I'm just thinking space :)
I always choose one side that I’m most likely to use. 9 times out of 10, I like one side better. That said, when I pull a paper into a kit, I can use either side. I bring a whole 6x6 paper pad into each kit because I don’t know what I’m going to be making, so I have plenty of options. I hope that helps!
I do! I forgot to mention it in the video, but I put it on the blog. Here's the link: www.acraftedstory.com/2021/01/how-to-build-scrapbooking-stash-kit.html
