I quit my television cable like 5 years ago already.. Regular television is 10 minutes video, 10 minutes commercials, 5 minutes of repeating what happened before the commercials, and then the same over again. And when you are awake during less normal hours, there is really no normal content on the cable. Only fortune sayers and porno-telephone line commercials and Telsell. I don’t understand why people keep paying for that.

Andrew is just incredible! Need a second spiral stairway, just build it. Has room for him & buddy to carry welder up/down in it. Levi always available for consultation. LOL. I predict Andrew a future 60 Minutes, 20 minute segment, probably doubling his subscriber numbers. Just like movie reviewers Siskel & Ebert, he has created a market that did not exist before.

I'm glad you removed the dog from the shop when the welding was done, I did ornamental iron work and pipe fitting for almost 10 years and I can't tell you how many nights I suffered with burnt eyes from the welding. Yes, I wore a welders mask but sometimes when you're working with someone, you still catch stray flash. I found that peeling a potato and putting 1/2 in each eye works until a doctor can give you the magic cream. When I went to the eye doctor, he told me that I boiled the outer layer on one of my eyes, so I've been wearing glasses ever since. I love dogs and just lost a favorite furry friend of mine in December of 2019. So thank you for thinking about your dog and your dogs vision. Oh, and great work by the way. Iron work is definitely for manly men. I got over my fear of heights standing on an electric scissor lift raised 20 feet standing on a 12 foot ladder and using a 4 foot pipe wrench at ceiling height. Take good care of yourself, when you turn 68 like me, everything you have hurts, so to avoid any pain, just don't stop working. Being stationary will kill you.

This is fascinating. I am loving this whole series. Technically, though this is not a spiral staircase (even though everyone calls them that), because a spiral is a curve with a constantly increasing radius, like a nautilus shell or a spool of tape. This is a helical staircase because it has a constant radius. A three dimensional curve of constant radius is a helix.

Awesome video Andrew! I like you wind up doing a lot of building projects all by my self. I like the way you had a simple design which was easy to follow and you didn't waste time with a lot of particulars. For folks that might struggle a bit it would have been nice if you would have laid out stair spacing horizontally, bolster height and how you attached them. But that was a great job made simple!

@KILAPH24471
@KILAPH24471 4 года назад
J McCracken give him more capital! You two could be partners...YOU the inside man coordinating drops, jobs etc. AC stays in the field as the Maestro of the metal. That's sort of how I (A: 73..retired) did it. I was in the field 12hrs a day staying on top of issues etc. I fell into the role by dint of having to catch infield-fly balls all the time. That's where $ is made by not letting $ be lost. I love AC's biz model. He has to be the entire Orchestra. Someday his perspective might change and when it does he'll have jockeys on every piece of metal every possible hour of every possible day. Billable hours for others..billable hours for his investment ground etc...a sawmill..a retail shop (which is more to promote the brand than anything else). But..he's ten to twenty years from that..w kids to fill the slots and read his sheet music. A mega millionaire to be? Of course..his best piece of "heavy metal" is between his ears. It's stunning to watch him. People..for a nice base pay..will let him leverage their talents to further-leverage his. When he went to Lowes to pick up the Sakrete? Only for a mental break. Otherwise, in his area, if you look at employment stats and demos (which I have) he can stitch together a formidable 'posse of skills' working for him, flexible as to hours etc, who can do anything..be anywhere. Local suppliers will bend over to support AC. Lowes would have delivered on a favorable basis that Sakrete. Yrs ago my lumber yard took real good care of me. AC can be the floating welder/ mechanic etc to keep the wheels spinning. His job? To look at each operator's tickets vs work-in-place. Seems to me he should look to his quarry for mechanical help when he needs to be in two places at once with tools. The deal? His stone, concrete business etc. He barters his biz-quantity against his other needs from them. They need him! He is a heckuva guy. But he can be part of Regional-Troika of talent, probably against older men/women. At thirty I was aligned w men twice my age. AC, if he chooses, and ONLY IF HE CHOOSES, can likewise take on the region. It is a tourist destination and he should start cut-and-fill of lousy topo ground..pop appropriate dwellings on them for seasonal biz etc. First and foremost? His machines groom and prep the site pads. A partner takes care of the retail-biz end. Like so many people watching this channel, builders and developers are intimidated and in awe of excavation skills. AC HAS THIS TALENT. If he takes the intimidation factor out of projects at the front-end, land-development level, he will have power players eating from his hand. He not only gets to do HIS THING, but he'll get a piece of the backside as a thank you for taking land development's inherent risk out of the equation. I know I've gone on a bit here, but AC is on the precipice of truly great achievements..beyond those already done by him..if he chooses. When I watch these pieces of land I go back to being in business and wanting to watch him soar.

Spiral stairs can be done in many ways, and yours look great! If I could offer a simpler, and cleaner looking design.... Have the fabricators cut a radius on the inside of each tread to match the main pole. Then you prep each tread by welding a single picket to the back right corner, as well as, a short picket w/foot under the front outside edge of the first tread. Weld the first tread to the pole, using a chain vise-grip around the pole to hold the tread up. Move the chain vise-grip up to the next mark, set the next tread on top bringing the tread nose forward meeting the picket of the previous tread, and weld it up. And so on, and so on. It would save some material, fabrication time, and look cleaner. Just a tip. You do great work!

Funny thing about "right way" , "wrong way" when it comes to spiral staircases...the original ones were built in castles, and so designed in a manner that a defending soldier could come down and swing his sword with the dominant right hand. The opponent, contrarily, would have his right arm blocked by the center pole. Spiral stair cases are still built that way...not many sword fights on them anymore though....just in case anybody was interested
