Man, I can't believe how well you've read your audience. You understand that most of us are beginners and you take the time to explain every little bit, which is crucial for us to understand. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Keep up the good work man!
Comments like this mean the world to me ❤ I remember exactly what it was like to start out in Bubble, so I try to create resources that I wish I had in the beginning. There's plenty more to come!
@@BuildingWithBubble indeed man... on the other site, videos like this mean the world to us, because we have these ideas and we know bubble is the tool, but it is so hard to start and those videos are just pure gold. I believe if you keep up this great work, your channel will explode eventually. There is no other way!
I'm loving your content! If possible, can you do a tutorial walking us through how to build a custom crm dashboard design? Something like picking a random dashboard design off dribbble and remaking the design in Bubble. I think this will be very helpful for a lot of us.
Appreciate it! And if you're looking to build a CRM specifically, I'd recommend checking out my tutorial where I build a CRM like Salesforce here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H9ziM4VFsO0.html If you were interested in just seeing me redesign any page, was there anything specific you'd like to see me cover throughout the process?
wawo, thank you so much for your good content. I'm just here in Uganda from Kampala international university (KIU) and I'm great to see your bubble video and I'm going to buy 👍🤛 i need you for more
Hi ! Thanks a lot for the video, it was very useful ! Small question : I see that you use a lot margins but in some cases wouldn't be more effective to use padding on the parent group instead ? (For example left padding for the group step-1 so that all the child elements are aligned)
Glad the content has been helpful so far! And great point. When it comes to responsive design, like anything in Bubble, there's more than one way of doing things. I personally prefer to use a combination of margins and parent container alignments to create fully responsive apps. That being said, using padding as an alternative is also a completely valid solution.
First of all, thank you. I'm going to buy your courses because I feel very comfortable listening you. Just one question, instead of adding margins and paddings on all elements, isn't better to add padding just to group? As FE developer, I'm looking at group as div (flex: row/column). Does that sounds o.k to you? Thanks once again, great job!
Glad this could help! And great question. Like anything in Bubble, there's more than one way of doing things. You're absolutely right though, instead of adding margin/padding to elements, you could wrap those elements in a container, then apply the settings to the group itself. Hope this helps
Awesome! Looking at purchasing the full course. Does the course cover extensive filters? Like multiple filters at once; Homes & Apartments, 3+ bedrooms, etc. all at once? If not, is there one of your courses that does? I'd love to purchase one that covers those details!
Great question! Unfortunately, this course doesn't cover extensive filters, but I do walk through this in the full version of my Yelp clone: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6vLoVH7lAbs.html If you shoot me an email (lachlan@buildingwithbubble.com), I'd be more than happy to give you free access to the Yelp course if you end up buying the Zillow course.
Sir am glad I came across your videos.. Thanks once again for sharing such value with us... Am facing a problem regarding how can a user upload their data and photos from their place please let me know. Thank you
Glad the videos have been helpful! And I cover how to do this within the full course. You can get access to this through the link in the description of the video ✌
Finally finished the video! Thank you very much for this very insightful tutorial, Lachlan. One last question if I may! When I previewed this page after completing the tutorial and typed in the "street address" text box, no property addresses are showing up, and when I type the full address out manually, it just deletes it once I click off. I already connected the APIs and followed your tutorial closely, so I'm not very sure where I went wrong. Do you know or at least have any tips to figure it out? Regardless, you've been a massive help. Thank you!
Glad it could help 🙌 And good question. Could you just double-check that you have an active payment method within your Google developer account. While Google is quite generous with how many API requests you can make for free, they do still require you to have a credit card on file to make the APIs functional.
This is helpful. I want to build a parking spot rental service. This tutorial and workflow are timely! The additional workflow could be sending the House Owner a whatsapp message? That could be useful for the busy folks who do not want to login the app to check.
Loving this, Purchased the Video, however I have some questions regarding users and you didnt add any options to payment, so users can purchase plans/ pay also the signup with google/other platforms
So glad it could help! And when it comes to payment plans, this is definitely possible in Bubble. I have a tutorial that covers how to do this here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EAhrfR62q1c.html And when it comes to the Google login, I also have a tutorial that covers this here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XuUkshWifok.html Hope this helps ✌
on time stamp 1:28:00 for the square footage, you mentioned to choose FORMATTED AS: NUMBER. the number option is gone and now replaced with US Phone so what do we choose as option to show the value of Square footage ? Please advise.
Happy to help. Can you just double-check that the 'sqr-ft' data field is a number in your database, not a text field. Let me know if this does the trick!
Is there a way to add storage for files for each property? Example: If an agent wanted to load a set of floor plans as a PDF with the listing photos, is that possible?
Yes, this is possible. All you'd need to do is add a data field under the 'property' data type. This data field could be called something like 'floor plan' and be set as a file (or even a list of files). Then, when a property manager lists a property, add a file uploader element to this page. This will allow them to upload the floor plans. Hope this helps!
Good question. Unfortunately I don't sell pre-built templates. In the past, I've found that while templates can provide a ready-made solution, they can lead to issues down the track if you want to make changes to the app. The purpose of my courses is to teach students how to build and manage their own app from scratch. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
while linking the property satellite with the property as you've done using full details, is it reliable to link it from the property i.e. property linked to property satellite or property satellite linked to an original property? The property data field having no relation to the satellite for speed
Great question. If you followed this approach, whenever you'd want to display the data from the satellite, you'd need to perform a search for the satellite that's linked to the main property. While this is definitely possible and easy to build, Bubble recommends against trying to perform searches where possible. Searches consume more workflow units than referencing a linked item. In the past, I was a big user of searches, but these days, I try to avoid them where possible. Hope this helps!
Can you just elaborate on what you mean by creating a link? If you want to send someone to a Bubble app, you can definitely do this by adding in the URL of the Bubble app.
I have a couple questions if I may! 1) I’m at the part where I’m setting up the google API keys. It instantly put me on a free trial and it said once it expires, I won’t be charged yet it will mark my recourses for deletion. Does it matter if it deletes my resources after I already set everything up with my website and I don’t plan on using it again? I don’t want to pay the google cloud subscription if I don’t have to. 2) it wants me to restrict my API to a certain website. In bubbles tutorial it says use my apps URL. Is that the domain I need to purchase for my website or should I just go into bubble and copy & paste the URL in the box? I’m very confused
Happy to help. When it comes to the Google developer account, from my experience, once your free trial ends, they'll automatically move you to a paid plan. That being said, the paid plan still provides a generous amount of free requests each month before it actually charges you. When it comes to the URL, while you're building your app, this will be the URL when you run a preview of the app. When you actually publish your app onto a custom domain, you'll need to update the URL to be your own custom domain. Hope this helps!
@@AnthonyAllioo Unfortunately, I stopped publishing new courses on Udemy a few years back. As a course marketplace, Udemy takes 80% of each sale, so for small creators like myself, it just wasn't a feasible solution.
@@BuildingWithBubbledef get it. I’m becoming a creator as well. Do you have any promo codes? I’m not in the best financial situation right now, otherwise I would bought the course in heartbeat. But I want to take it. I’m pivoting from Wix and I’m trying to rebuild my web app fast. Definitely will be taking other classes in the future as well but I need to knock this out and generate some income.
@Lachlan Quick question if l may please..been racking my brains for a week now without a solution☹️ Assume a marketplace where there are 1. listing type option sets e.g product and service 2.Under each listing types above there is a different category e.g Makeup,Skincare(products) Massage, braiding (services) 3. From each of the categories above there are different Subcategories e.g Face, eyes (makeup category) 4. From the subcategories above there are options like Foundation, powders (Face) and Mascara, Eyeliner(Eyes) How do l structure and link the listing type, category, subcategories and subcategory options as option sets? How do l make it possible during the listing process to show subsequent options based on the previously selected values from the listing type-category-subcategory-subcategory options? Your help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks 🙏
Happy to help! I'd personally create a separate list of option sets for every category/sub-category you mentioned. Within each option set, I'd create an attribute that links to the relevant option set you want to connect. Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
But…do you actually own your website? If you stop paying their monthly fees your website doesn’t work. Which means you can’t really sell it one day or at least not at high value. Or if I’m wrong, please let me know. Because that’s the only thing holding me back from using Bubble
As Bubble hosts your application, you'll be required to have an active subscription once the app is published. Most website/app builders are the same. With something like Shopify, you're required to pay a monthly subscription, and even with WordPress, you still have to pay for the actual hosting of your app. Hope this helps.
