i haven't heard adventurecore called granola, but i would definitely expect more hippie influences if people are calling it granola! whereas gorpcore might also be named after food but it's more focused on hiking and practicality
I think adventurecore is a more popular term but I’ve def heard the term “granola girl” pop up, esp on tiktok! I haven’t looked into gorpcore too much but it does sound similar!
So my sister and I were talking about aesthetics recently, trying to figure out which ones draw her in, etc, and other than cottagecore, the closest thing that she likes is adventurecore, though more of an urban version. She loves maps and exploration gear (compasses, binoculars, cameras)... but is categorically a city mouse so to speak. I've looked at the aesthetics fandom page and couldn't quite find what I was looking for - while she and her husband do occasionally take pictures of art on buildings and sidewalks, it's not as big of a thing for them as, say, in actual urbancore. So I've just been using the term 'urban adventurecore' as sort of a general term. The color scheme would be more like the colors of the city itself during the day, so more blues and neutrals with a pop of brighter color. It would have stuff drawn from adventurecore - the cameras, the purses and bags that might as well be bags of holding, maps, etc - but more practical for blending in more in a city rather than sticking out like tourists. I'm curious as to if you've come across something like this?
I just found your channel yesterday and I’m redecorating my room. I think this is exactly what I’m going for I’ve never heard this aesthetic until now! 🤎
