Those are some awesome looking outworlds! You used water and talcum powder to prevent the ants from escaping. But wouldn't alcohol be a better option, as it evaporates faster and spreads easier over the area where you want to apply it? I personally use alcohol and never tried water. What do you think? (I'll upload a video about making a outworld very soon, and I will show my alcohol barrier. Unfortunately, I didn't use grout). :(
No problem. :D I'm editing the video at the moment, but it will take a while because I'm making some AAC formicaria. I will send a link when it's done. :D (The alcohol I use for the mixture is 96% alcohol, used to clean up. I bought it at a Dutch drugstore, called 'Da'. I'm not sure if you will be able to get it in UK).

Hey, just caught some queen ants this week, there were loads of nuptial flights here in Essex. I was wondering what you do with excess queen ants? I have several that have eggs, do you make nests for all of them? or is it safe to let them go into the wild? Thanks.
I would recommend giving them to a friend, selling them or perhaps giving them to an ant store to sell on. Because the Queens have eggs, I wouldn't suggest releasing them back into the wild :-)
I have a bunch of pheidole pallidula queens in test tubes for about 4 months now they still haven't laid any eggs, I've kept them in the dark in my closet plz help
Eny one know if you can use just sand with a lasias nager colany?am asking becauwe i just cought 3 queens and 2 of them are probably furtalised and one is got her wings and is puling on the cotan but i will steel ceep her.am going on a one munth vecetion after two weeks shold i live them here?IF ENY ONE ANSERD TNX VERY MUCH AND HAVE A NICE DAY :D

ItsCamiell, in het Nederlands wordt het vaak talkpoeder, babypoeder of kinderpoeder genoemd. Je kunt het mixen met water, maar je zou ook 96% alcohol kunnen gebruiken.
Nice video but I will say this is a pretty much a copycat word for word, material, and build video of AntsCanada how to build a outworld tutorial he did 3 years ago. Cept for the last part with the bluetack an slip barrier.
Ants Britania yeah it's almost an exact copy of his video an using the same materials. He used a kritter krawler instead of whatever small container you used. Only reason why I say seemed like a copy of it word for word is because antscanada is one of the main well know ant communities out there with their own line of products. I've seen other channels copy them.
