It's my dream to build a deck somewhat like this one. I'd like double the size for a capacity of 6 to 10 people. I can't wait to start building. This was very inspiring.

Instead of the cooler you could make a whole in a storage box, insert a raisable basket, and then lower your drinks into the lake under the raft :)

I built one like that, 20 years ago, but I used stainless steel banding material instead of nylon rope, it just survived hurricane Mathew. Plus I used 15 Barrels, I put them down the Middle , also used treated 4x4 s as frame bolted together with 1/2 inch bolts 20 years ago it cost me about 500 to build. I had to order the stainless banding material , you also need a banding tool. do not put the deck on until its waterborn its to heavy.

Ditch the trolling motor and throw a 30hp 4 stroke on there and really take that thing out for a ride!

Will Whyatt It would work if they mounted it to the front end of the structure (having the motor pull the structure), thereby offsetting all the weight at the "rear" of the structure.

I read somewhere each 55 gallon drum is capable of supporting 440lbs I think. That was based on a gallon of water weighing 8 pounds, so something about the displacement 8x55=440lbs.
