@@shubosong1905 The shocks fit great, the springs are designed for 12lb trucks and need to be replaced or modified to work with lighter weight trucks. The springs I ordered were the wrong diameter and waiting on a few more sets to test. Thanks for watching.

Awesome video. I'd love to know more about spring selection. Rates. Preloads. Tunability on the Baja Ray. Setting up dual shocks in the rear if it makes sense. Limiting straps. Love your channel. Keep up the fine work.

Great job, buddy. I am thinking about changing the shock absorbers, they work quite well but this plastic .... Is there anything from a losi in metal? or is only ProLine staying? Unless there is an alternative from other models? Regards and keep it up💪👍

1/8th buggy shocks are what I am looking for based on the weight, Baja Reys are marketed as 1/10 but actually weigh closer to 1/8 scale larger RC cars, the problem I had before was finding the right size spring with the proper rates and that has been a challenge. Anything big bore would be an improvement, Stay away from powerstrokes, the body's simply don't hold enough shock oil to be useful with the Provided proline springs.

@@MaxeeOffroadRC UDR is a tad on the heavy side, but 1/18 buggy big bores from almost anything with the correct length. I got the lengths from Losi and hope to hunt down an option soon.

I'd love to see you show how to find wheels and tires that will fit the baja rey and also what's out there for hex adapters. I wanna run paddles on mine but im lost when it comes to trying to figure out what will and won't fit. I know they sell hex adapters. Also how can you figure out if a certain set or wheels and tires will fit without buying and trying them... I know some wheels don't allow stock baja rey wheel nuts and it's all so confusing, if you could do a video on how to figure out and narrow down what will and will not fit the stock hex with the stock wheel nuts and also what hex adapters work and what wheels your now open to running with hex adapters installed.... thanks keep up the good work I lovveeee your videos especially the baja rey ones!!!

This is a great idea and will do it. I got a set of Proline Sling Shot paddles and without adapters they fit the rear of the baja rey if you remove the rear body panels, Associated paddles also fit when mounted to Baja Rey Rims, thanks for watching.

This has been something I have been stock piling to do a video on its crazy how difficult its been to get a legit fitting tire that actually works and isn't just for instagram posers. So far the offset for proline pre mounted just doesn't fit the raptor body the way I would like. The best option I am working on is using heavy weight foams for crawlers with the tire of your choice but on Losi Baja Rey rims. The Proline adapters that should work ended up rubbing the brake caliper and the next offset is slightly too wide. Got a lot going on moving to a new spot but thought I would give you a follow up on my frustration trying to get a good tire upgrade. Pain in the rear so far but hope to have a video addressing this and will give you a shout out for the ideas.

Why no rebound? Wouldn't that help get the tires to full extension faster to maintain ground contact?

Good question. I researched and researched and reached out to some dudes that race RC and with that and through my own testing I have found that zero rebound shocks work the best in my terrain. Building dead shocks is easier to dial in oil weights without the varying effect rebound has on compression, with rebound you add compression add full bump, in a certain track or terrain you might benefit from rebound but in my opinion my trucks always get better traction with dead shocks vs rebound built. @@DoubleClutchProductions That's good to know. I have the Baja Rey myself, Black Rhino edition, and am looking at improving it. Currently it's mostly asphalt, concrete, and grass with some dirt and gravel. 3rd battery in a blew a tire. 4th battery in a broke the front bumper but a kid had a scooter laying down across the field from where I was at night and I hit it going full tilt on 3S. No other damage so far. How is that metal rear axle housing holding up? I'm really tempted to do the metal upgrades across the board.

For rebound, if you pulled the shaft all the way out, does it retract back inside the body?

Most likely too little oil, zero rebound would be no movement of the shaft in comp and ext, some shocks it's difficult to get it perfect but minimal will work great. Sometimes the bottom cap can be over tight or the seals/o rings are not working letting air in and out.
