This video will show you how to build bridges effortlessly using rock walls, custom walls and custom floors. These bridges can be great to get carts onto an island. They are the flattest and smoothest bridges you can build. They do have their downfalls, they are really weak and cannibals can cross them. However, if you build fortifications around them, then they will be easy to defend.

this doesnt just replace bridges, this also potentially replaces custom foundations, because floors are way cheaper. good find.

Holy crap I didn't even think of that haha. I mean it will be a bit more difficult to line up but the savings in the long run would be huge. One of the perks to the custom platform is that they are strong, but if you have good defenses or have damage off, then there isn't an issue. Good observation!

Your knowledge of this game is second to none.. lining up walls to add custom floors is very hard for me personally and I'd love to use it I have 4 amazingly beautiful waterfall locations I the south west. You probably know the ones. Love the videos pal I wish I found this game 4 years ago

Slo mo sound lmao. That's the sound from the old t.v. show 'The Six Million Dollar Man' where a man has bionic legs and an arm and an eye. Any time he jumps they use that sound to signify his bionic jump.

thanks i just got into this game and had two little islands i was building stuff on but because i couldnt figure out a bridge i couldnt get my shelter over their now i just cut out the middle to keep em from crossing and my home area is perfectly safe all the bluebarries and turtle water i could ever need

Just stumbled upon this... Tried it out, but it doesn't work for me. Has the bridge to be 100% horizontal? I tried to build one from my house to a nearby hill, measured the both ends exactly and rectangular, filled them up with stones, removed the remaining blueprints as shown, but no custom floor is placeable. Are there limitations in length, too?

my favorite method of building bridges is just to do it with docks and put custom stairs in the gaps, its hard to do right but it looks awesome

If I use 3/4 pillers of rock wall over it can I still place custom floor on it? I tired doing it today to make a big house floor but I couldn't make the custom floor at all.

This is super late but in case it helps the next guy-notice how Farket is making complete squares, but only needs to build 2 sides. Thats what allows the floor. If you build a wall on one side of the water, then build a seperate wall on the other side, you wont be able to place a floor. I dont use pillars often, but with pillars you have to custom place each point of the floor and its suuuuper picky. I can never get it to work right/how I want. Even though I see it done in build videos pretty often. I assume its PS4 controls vs PC controls but idk. Sony got me again... Hope that helps.
