Air brick 🧱 covered up and I would use a washer in front of the timber against the wall as a packer help rain run past the back of the wood All so nothing said about a small run off on the level for the rain water / water to run off ,, And get a impact driver 👍

I have a job at home similar to this. So you just make some type of "legs" they sit on top of the cement footers? Also, what about laying the decking on concrete slab? I have a slab approx. 20' x 15'.

You say 'needs to be at least 150mm above and damp coarsing'...but it looks like the decking board is going to sit right in front of that air brick, not sure if that constitutes damp coarsing but its going to cause a problem with damp potentially no?
@SubZero-ew8xp
@SubZero-ew8xp 7 лет назад
Which could potentiantially result in rot issues of the sub floor. I always thought you need to try maintain a 150mm height to the DPC to minimise the chance of rising damp?

@mikeyf1904
@mikeyf1904 4 года назад
@@SubZero-ew8xp correct, although several senior project managers on sites have told us to put decking on the same course of bricks as the air brick before 🤔 Clerk of works never pulled it either. But I always thought its got to be above air bricks, for various reasons.

This was humorous - covered the airbrick and then 3:22 fitted the upright supports and appeared to only add the wood treatment at one end - not bothering with the end resting on the ground which is likely to soak up water and rot.
@malcolmchadwick4047
@malcolmchadwick4047 3 года назад
Yes he did Dave. I am doing a deck at the moment my uprights have been treated and wrapped up completely with DPC like a Christmas present before screwing on to keep the water soaking up the end grain or anywhere else. I am hoping this works fingers crossed.

If its only a single level like in the video then no just support the frame on feet down to the concrete pad. As long as it is level and stable you will have no problems.
