How to build LEGO 31058 Praying Mantis (4th Alternate build :Dinosaur)

Woahhhhh this is super cool! I love praying Mantist I think they are stunning creatures. I like them as pets too. They are actually fun to hold and feed. I'm waiting on this set to come in the mail. Bought it for my 5 year old who Looooooves Dinosaurs. I know he's clearly gonna need help but I couldn't pass the T_Rex up. I know what I'm making after for me. So cool THANK YOU!!! I know I'm a year late, but KUDOS to you for an alternate Lego build and video well done!!! The Praying Mantis is an awesome build and your instructional video is much more easier to follow than some of the other RU-vid channels (like Captain El Dorado and Chubbybots) I've watched. Don't get me wrong; those two does kudo alternate builds, but their instructional videos is flawed in some ways. In truth, you're my second favorite alternate builder after BrickBros.UK. The wooden background is a great backdrop texture (some uses a white backdrop that camouflages the lighter coloured parts) and you're patient enough to actually show the completed sub-assemblies BEFORE attaching then to the main build. Plus, with a sweep of your hand (nice touch), you show the parts needed for each assembly (not some pre-assembled ones like in Chubbybots' videos). Well filmed and easy to follow by beginners and experts (I'm the latter) alike. Since this is of your own design, in my humble opinion, you're a master builder! Please create more MOCs builts if you can in the future, because you're great at it!

The head on mine is top-heavy but thanks for the instruction. Also my set only contains 2x 4222960 so did you get an extra of those to use in the base of the neck at 7:13 ?

Thank you for the video. This is a fun build for bug-lovers and very easy to follow along. Set 31058 had all the necessary pieces for this build. Is there any way to stabilize the neck joint? The mantis is a little top-heavy and tends to flop down at the neck. Otherwise, no complaints. Thanks again!

9:24 I never knew that once I put that rod in I would never get it back. I have tried to remove it from that lego piece and thought I did but just got it stuck on a block that helped me remove it from the original lego piece.
