Wow. The 2 of you are one heck of a team. I would kill for those bookcases. Wouldn't be able to reach 80% of them, but I certainly would be able to fill them, one way or another. Quality workmanship from 2 very talented guys. Funny as hell too. Boys will be boys. Well done.
Thanks Curt! We greatly appreciate the kind words. We had a blast on this project. And don’t worry, Jason installed a rolling ladder so he could reach his bourbon stash on the top shelf 😂
You two do the best collabs on RU-vid. With Keith Johnson and Bourbon Moth, you know you're getting two completely different videos and two different takes on everything. Which I like. I say you make it official for future team ups. I say we call this union:..................................wait for it.............................Bourbon Johnson!
😂🤣 thanks man!! We do make a good team. He will be coming back out to my shop again…hopefully this year. And we’ve already trademark BourbonDust because I’m KJSawdust on Instagram 😜
Keith, your videos are such fun to watch. I am not sure how you do it, but you do such a great job in making, editing and narrating your videos. The tease at the end was funny, and so I guess we'll have to wait to see what his collection is. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks for posting your videos and giving us a great escape while we watch.
Thank you so much for this video. I built my shop and now I am working up to doing a new 6 cabinet built-in in my house. I was taking notes the whole video.
WOW! It takes some incredible talent for just 2 people to complete a project of that scale, with that degree of quality, in just 5 days. Pretty amazing stuff!!
Hehe, I like your sense of humour. Pretty on the spot. Also, I like your showing us that even a large project (problem) like this only consists of small problems (projects) that can be handled once you run into it. Thank you, very inspiring work!
From watching this video and Jason's, following the instructions and going back and forth from yours to his, I have been watching you 2 build this book case for an entire week. Soap, rinse and repeat.....Soap, rinse and repeat.....Soap, rinse and repeat.....Soap, rinse and repeat.....etc!!!!!!!
I installed 5300 sq ft of sod this weekend and you two built a cabinet monster in 5 days that is probably the same sq ft as my back yard LOL. Well done!
These videos need my full attention, so I am going to have to enjoy it another day as too tired. I have a much smaller bookcase in alcove to build so will no doubt be cribbing from you
You guys are amazing. Jason is always doing things beyond belief, but I love how you came up with some amazing problem solving time saving ideas. Despite you both almost killing each other. I didn’t see much sanding? I can’t believe there wasn’t any, is that because you got stuck doing off camera?
This is insame - doing all this in 5 days is crazy, but not surprising at all :). Well done, once again! Can't wait to see the video of that table you're building!
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworkinghaha. I wonder where I went wrong on my algorithms. I finally came across your craft the other day and immediately subscribed. Your explanation to fine detail and various procedure methods are greatly appreciated. As an ICU nurse I am nervous about my cabinet project I plan on building due to my meticulous nature. I’ve been preplanning for weeks now in sketchup to eliminate mistakes but after seeing how things are fixed using various methods really helps boost confidence!
@@shawnhillis5829 Thanks so much for the kind words! So glad to hear my content was helpful with your current project planning. Good luck with the build!
Speaking of scale... are you sure this isn't a proof of concept project for a formal private Library or Collections Annex? I mean, I could see your inventiveness and Design/Build Skills handling an all-four-walls version, and make it glow!!!
Next time Jason has you collaborate over at his shop, you should slap a Keith over the Jeremiah on his Jeremiah Johnson poster. See how long before he notices
You probably already answered this question, but whats the plan for accessing all of the high shelves, rolling library ladder or something? Any safety concerns with someone accessing those super high shelves? A great build though. Very impressive.
Thanks very much! Jason has no plans for a rolling ladder since the room dimensions are actually quite small and it would eat up a lot of floor space. I assume whatever gets put up there will be done with an extension ladder and for decoration only! 😜
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking dunno how this comment ended up on this video haha sorry think the vid I commented on ended just as I wrote this then ended up on your comments lol sorry
Watched BourbonMoths chanel aka (boozey insect) humour intnded; Jason stated your video editing prowess will aguement this cabinet build, he was correct. Your next collaboration is when ? ? ?
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking It doesn't mean he doesn't have a collection. I don't drink but I used to have a collection of beer bottles from around the World ... until my last house move.
Splinters, board bumping, jumping clamps... I hope both of you had proper health/life insurance. If not... I've heard that a Policy Genius may be of use here 🤣
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking dude , you guys are my idols, I am a good wood worker ,and I still get back to the two of you to learn more. Thank you guys so much.
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking Thank you for the reply! Sorry to bother with another question--what is the razor/knife scribe that you use? I checked your Amazon affiliate store, but couldn't find it.
The Bourbon Moth has a video specifically on scribing if you check out his channel. The Bourbon Moth is Jason Hibbs' channel--the guy who's working with Keith in this build (in case you or someone else reading this didn't know). Keith actually recommended people check out his channel in this video anyway :) hope that helps!
Hey Nate! Here is one way that I do it. You don't have to do with a Lamello, you can use biscuits and the same method. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hf6mo6EQB6Y.html
Keith. I have to ask you about the T shirt you are wearing. I am from the Toledo Ohio area and at one time there was a Libbey High School whose nickname was Cowboys. Is this shirt for one and the same?
In the far future I‘ll take a plain in Germany to the us, stay at you place a learn how to do all that stuff…not a problem…what du you think?…collection of transformer toycars from the 80‘s
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking I use maple on almost all of my custom stuff. I feel like it takes paint or finish beautifully, especially when I have them sprayed with semi gloss. I recently did a closet with poplar due to budget restraints, it took a 3rd coat and an extra week to get right. Anyways, great job on knocking out that massive built in.
