You said it in one of your other videos, "knowing the end before the beginning" and this video shows how true that is for stairs as well. If you do not have them planned out from the start, you will end up tearing down a lot of work just to get them in after the fact.

Thanks for this. Yeah I agree that they need some sort of template in the build book. Maybe regular stairs and maybe spiral stair cases or something

I'd love to see someone make an open grand entrance with the single staircase leading into two spiral types, or you know, the ones that curve. Thanks for showing me how to do this. I was always puzzled about this.

when ur placing the logs down flat there should be a button u press when u want it full length or when u want to autocut it

Good job on this video mate! Also i hate the fact that to do simple things that game SHOULD allow us to do, we need to struggle so much. They NEED to simplify the building as it drives people crazy! I love building, I enjoy it so much, UNTIL i cant put a simple log cuz game says NOT THIS TIME!!!!

Great vid! And I'm sure that during the alpha the devs will make things more, user friendly. Its like, things like placing the logs this or that way, makes sense to the devs because they understand the system, they made it. But it doesn't really make sense to a outsider or new player. I'll have to come back here once I decide to build something again :p And maybe for your own sanity if your making more like this, try increasing the speed at which time passes. Makes the animations for placing stuff much quicker. Farket has a vid on how, I can't remember how at the top of my head.

Stairs are SO annoying to build! Thanks for this, its driving me nuts trying to fill the walls. Second time i watch this video in 2 days 😂 Ok i can not get this to work at all. No matter how i place the logs and the arrows it *newer* gives the "circle" icon, only "lifty uppy". Did they ruin this in 1.0... as usual?

great vid. had a thought i havent tried when i saw the stair raising glitch @ ~7min in the vid. could you use stacked 1/4 logs, inside the 1st story of an existing 2 story structure, to make a temporary little arch and create a 1/2 grid offset (this works) (but what i havent tried): once the temporary arches are removed from the first floor build a glitched stair off of the offset grid. will it just raise thru the floor and make an interior staircase cause it doesn't intersect with the existing grid? or does it raise the whole structure in a weird way when it passes thru the floor? like can u use that glitch to clip stairs thru existing building if the grid is different?

yeah it sucks how you got to almost glitch the game to build an idea, we should be able to build whatever we want where we want Build off waterfalls and cliffs build in caves build a roof as high as you like etc.

Tired of unfinished games being released. Seems to happen more often than not nowadays.

The building system in Sons if probably the worst I have seen and before you say it's early access that's no excuse to many companies these days hide behind its early access it's an alpha excuse because they have already gotten your money and they a simply to lazy to care anymore Star Citizens is a perfect example this, games with are building system need to take note at how Conan exiles dose it that games building system is simply amazing.

Can I just pay you to come and fix this on my build? Seriously. I can't figure it out and I'm frustrated beyond belief.
