Is it possible to combine two activities into one slot? For example, I volunteer as part of my schools National Honor Society and as part of Key Club. Both activities go hand in hand, and there is a lot of overlap between the two, as such would it be ok if I listed them in the same slot despite them being different organizations?
What might be the best way of describing an activity with only 150 characters? Especially if we had no recognitions or awards that came from the activity but was still significant in our high school lives.
Make sure that you use all the space you are provided in the title and category of each activity to accurately convey the nature of the activity. Where you have 150 characters, make sure that you remove all unnecessary words and concisely and directly describe the activity. Use abbreviations where possible. Also, remember that some college supplements ask about activities and there is an additional information section if you really want to say more about an activity. Good luck!
Should I include hobbies? Pre-Covid, I spent at least 7 hours a week going to the gym. My hobby required dedication and resolve but it does not fit into the traditional mold of extracurriculars. I also spend at least 30 minutes each day practicing an instrument.
