I just exploded my Might Mini Tiny Tutor on the maiden. The build was cursed from the get go. over bevelled the wings and had to replace them with DT foam which was heavier and thinner. Not sure if that threw off the CG according to the plans. Came in at 260g instead after the swap. Pilot error took care of the rest. Good learning Experience. I've got a new kit in the mail and look forward to mending my broken heart hahaha. PRACTICE THOSE CUTS ON SOME BURNER FOAM BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE KIT.
I do alot of soft woodwork, I have a Desk dolly as i call it which would help you no end doing fiddly stuff like this. The dolly.... A 7"x 3/4"x4" soft wood with a 7"x 1/2"x1" off to the side giving a 90* to push against. It also has removable dowls so you can peg it down so it dont run away when you put side load on it. Its great for clamping when glueing up.
I'd love to build this for my daughters, but the shipping to Australia is more than twice the price of the kit! The plans don't seem to be on the FTCA store yet either. Any ETA for those?
Yeah, why should Flight Test make any return on hundreds of hours of R&D, ingenuity, inventiveness and hard work? Who do they think they are being in business anyway, the cretans?! Crimminy, that’s all I can say!
@@FliteTestTech in your FTCA website is listed a plan FT Tutor (1055mm), is it the same as this FT Mighty Mini Tiny Tutor in this video? Is this the same sub-250 gram plane mentioned by Josh in the video?
I started into the hobby several years ago; watching your videos. Crashed every plane I ever built or bought beginning with an expensive trainer and a DX-6 spectrum receiver. I bought this little kit you just built and decided to give it a try again…thanks for a video WITHOUT all the nonsense. You are a great teacher. Flying sure looks a lot easier than it actually is. 😅
I really wish you showed the binding process with the R84 radio master receiver. Still trying to get it bound and it is the most frustrating thing I have experienced in a while./
Hello Flite Test Friends, Congratulations on another amazing project. Please share the plans for building this wonderful plane. We here below the equator, (Tupiniquin people), were unable to buy the construction kit.
I just ordered this kit. The last RC plane I built/flew was in about 1985. I love building those old balsa airplanes, I was just never very good at flying them. This system with the foamboard is so cool. I m going to start over and learn to fly again. I was just wondering what type of paint to use that won't melt the foam?
You are doing really Great...I started RC Hobby after seeing FT flite videos...thanks to the whole team. In India we do not have much RC hobby club who can teach these thinks...but just by seeing your videos any one can get in to the hobby.. keep going..🎉
Thanks to your videos i got inspiration and motivation to try out this hobby. Since the shipping is not supported to Bangladesh i had to bring it from America to Dubai to Bangladesh. I already checked my transmitters and also got the turbo wing. Thanks alot!❤
What's the wing span??? It doesn't seem to be in the model's description on the FT site & I can't find any vid in their channels that mention it? Am I missing something here? If I'm over looking something by being an air head, I'll own it, but can someone advise please? Thanks & y'all be well & stay safe! God bless.
Hello, Josh Bixler Sir ! Thanks for another great video. My son and I are still enjoying the FT-22's from years ago! Thanks again brother have a great day !👊😎
I like it. I've got a few open acres in front of my house; this FT Mighty Mini Tutor would be perfect for the space. Ps. I've already got the swapable Tutor which I fly at the club field.
I was just at the edgewater shop this past Friday and picked up what I thought was the tiny tutor kit but it turned out I bought a wing kit for the tutor mk2. RIP me I guess.
