I really like how clear you are with directions. Even with steps that are mirrored or repeated, you go through it as its the first time, practically every step. In reality, it drives in just how precise you need to be, and the importance of each step, to ensure good flight.

If you have foamboard and a printer then you could always upscale it. It would most likely be cheaper depending on the foam you buy

Problem with painting is that this brown color does not paint easly, if I want a white zero will require a lot of paint layers which will increase weight a lot

Nothing but PRAISE!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍 She's actually "large" for a mini! The features on this - that big Wing Root/Battery Box and Servo Mounts is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Fuse Servos are SO MUCH more securely fixed in place than ANY OTHER Master Series Kit. It's round, molded Foam Body AND simple, robust design is the BEST I've ever seen from FT!!! I want MORE of this type of Design Aircraft! I'd love it, if you could revisit older Simple Series Planes, and integrate the features from this. NOT having the Servos just glued to a flat slab of Foam Board, would make older designs much safer and BETTER! AND, no disrespect to John Overstreet, who has really advanced FT Aircraft design... I was happy to see Bix back in the Saddle!! Josh's more careful attention to detail (OCD!!), better matches my own. 😉 Checking out the Corsair next!! ..... Even though they're economically priced, I haven't been able to afford ANY SBK for over 3 years. I'm hoping that 2021 is different. There's a few I'd love to have! 😊 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

This build took me forever and felt like another level compared the the Tutor, Bloody Baron, and Bloody Wonder I've built before. That being said on Power Pack F with an 850mah 3s it has amazing performance both zipping around at full blast and cruising around at more scale speeds. I just ran 4 packs and loved it.

Just built this. Great design especially the very strong wing/inner fuselage. This thing should endure a little punishment. Looks scale in the air too. Once I got it trimmed, it flies great and surprisingly easy for its size. Much better handling than the Mini Mustang. Question: what do the stickers in Japanese say?

Love the videos, but I have to ask, that an old GE television in the background? I used to collect and restore antique TV's... 😂 building and flying is less stressful and not nearly as dangerous!

Built it and flew it for my and its first flight! Grossly underestimated how fast and far it would go and ended up crashing into a tree 😂 Luckily it came down after I kept throwing a football at it! Lots of fun and a super fast plane!

The size of this model, even though you call it a Mini Zero, looks like a good size to have and park fly. Maybe I'm not noticing the difference between the servo arms, but it looks like the arms that are already only one arm are just as strong as the one with four arms and could be cut a little shorter to match the one with four arms. Maybe the holes are different?

Just finished building the Mini Zero with the new Maker 2 foam board. It turned out great! Definitely a better design than the Mini Mustang I built a few months ago. Thank you John Overstreet! The build was enjoyable, and I found it easy to follow along with Josh's video. And the decal sheet that comes with the quick-build kit is a nice addition. I did note two exceptions during the build, though. For the aileron servos, Josh recommends using the heavier 4-prong servo arm and trimming off 3 of the prongs. None of the servos in the "F" powerpack that I bought included the 4-prong version. However, there was a 2-prong version that is heavy enough. Also, routing the servo wires through the guide tubes in the rear fuselage (exactly as marked on the foam board and shown in the video) put way too much bend in the wires. I'm confident the rudder and elevator servos would not have handled that much resistance for long. Ultimately, I cut open the belly and removed the guide tubes. Now the wires run through the holes in the fuselage former and straight out through the back of the fuselage -- no more binding. All painted and ready to maiden as soon as I get a calm, dry day.

Dang, that paper came off real easy. Starting to wonder why glue would be used to bond paper surfaces together if the paper comes off that easy? Seems like it would be better to remove the paper and then glue the foam surfaces together. Seems odd to me the foam is given an airfoil shape by pressing it against the edge of a table. Anyone new to the method is likely to get bends in the surface rather than a smooth, rounded shape in the foam. Surely by now you guys have seen my video on using a foam rubber pad larger than the foam part to cold roll a curve into foam board. When a shallow curve is wanted, as in airfoil, use a larger rolling pin since you don't need a small, tight curve like you might want if forming a cowling, or A-10 engine covering.

@abdul bari I was noticing the paper wasn't being removed before hot glue was applied a lot. I am not one to use hot glue on my builds, but I am also not one to build park flyers in the FT methods, even though it is a good way to get started in the hobby. I tend to do the build-over plug and frame method instead since I don't normally build profile flyers either. I think I enjoy building more than flying, but it tends to be windy where I live, which might be a huge influence for me.

You don’t really need that complex of a method, it’s incredibly simple as is. Additionally this is a “Master Series” mini, so anyone building would have a bit more skill in building

@@air-headedaviator1805 I do admit I like building and find it hard to think of the build-over method as hard, or complicated, but then I like to make more than one copy in more than one style. I don't know of any other construction method that offer so many options and endless changes to the original build-over plug, or frame.

Rolling over the edge of a table works perfectly fine, and is not difficult. No need for more complex methods. And the paper holds well enough to not need to remove it to glue, which makes building much easier. Many thousands of planes have been built with these methods with great success.

@@jasonhurdlow6607 True in all you have said, but my personal experiences have suggested I needed to investigate ways to prevent the thin form board from creasing, which happened many times when I was doing the roll over the table edge. I even used a counter top edge that was rounded and was likely trying to form a very small,. tight bend, or curve, causing the thin foam board to fold, rather than curve. Much later in my experiments I realized if the foam board wasn't pressed to curve to much too fast, and I was using a tube to form the curve, the worse that could happen was the foam board might develop many creases, which happened when I was curving foam plate parts if I pressed/rolled the super thin, stiffer foam too hard and fast.
