How to knot your thread and bury it into your quilt layers. One tug will bring your top thread to the backside of your quilt. Then you can tie a simple knot and hide it with this easy method. This will give you a clean and beautiful quilt back.

Great tip! Love the fact that you only need to thread a needle once instead of over and over again!

So, that's the very best of all the ways I've seen for burying threads, Laura. So simple, fast, and easy for me (with a physical challenge) to do. I'm totally going to do this from now on, and I thank you!!!

Oh my goodness! I just tried it and it is soooo easy. I only had to thread a needle once! I buried three threads in less than 5 minutes! Thank you from the bottom of my quilting heart.

A timeless tip! I feel braver now re stopping/ starting the quilting if I want more than one thread color.

Thanks, Laura. Now I can finish off those loose threads before I put on my binding. Seems I can always count on you for showing an easy way to do fiddly tasks.

This is wonderful! A game changer! Here is another idea though that my daughter suggested when I showed this to her. Take your 'pulling through' thread and fold it in half, and thread the fold through the needle and pull half way out leaving a good bit of your ends. You now have your loop to catch and pull your threads through, but no knot to fight with. Just make sure that the ends of your pulling thead don't pull out.

This is too cool! My threads are always too short to thread them through a needle. I love this idea!

Clever, and easy to do. I like the look so much better than short stitches to lock. Thanks for sharing!

Totally got down how to bury a knot since I had to do it about seven times with this new Gutermann thread (recommend by a few Juki users). I fine that it breaks with a moderate tug on the thread. I bought 3 huge spools of this stuff. I didn't have any problem with 100% polyester thread on 100% cotton fabric but I thought the good stuff would be better. What do you know about Gutermann thread?

Mrs. Laura I was looking at one of your older videos. I was wondering if u could share how u made the buttons on the wall behind you? Or where u got them from? I love them and my theme for my new sewing room is big buttons. Thank u!

I need to learn how to tie a tiny knot that goes on the needle because it gets stuck....not going through.
@paolajofre

how do you knot the thread if it is a single thread? and it is short...what do you do? SOS lol :)
@suefliss7210
@suefliss7210 3 года назад
Here is what I do; I put a drop of super glue on a piece of paper and get a toothpick. Now I lasso that single thread and just before I pull it through I stick my tootpick in my super glue to get a teeny drop that I put on that single thread before pulling it through. That tiny bit of super glue will secure it forever inside your quilt. This will work on any threads that are too short to tie into a knot.
