Well, I won't be buying a motorcycle in Costa Rica, but I enjoyed your video. It seemed very concise and covered all the information someone would need in order to be "street legal" in Costa Rica. Well done.

For the last two months I have been debating whether to sign up for the trip or not, but sadly I'll have to let it pass by. I don't want to fly to CR for just a week, so it would mean going for at least 2 months and quitting my job here. Normally (thanks to your videos) I would be all for quitting a job to travel, but I already did so a few months ago and moved to Bulgaria. :) I really can't justify doing something like that again so quickly, gotta give it a chance here first. I hope the trip will be a success and if you host one again in the future I hope to have the chance to come. For now Im just looking forward to the videos. Thanks for all the inspiring content!

Also, you are required to use a helmet and a reflective wearable in your self, reflective bands cost like 4 dollars and i haven't seen one on you yet, you could get a 100 dollar fine for not using it.

Advise a rain "capa" and how greasy the roads are in rainy season due to diesel emissions sticking on the street surface. Unfortunately too, in May my friend the rains have come in earnest firmly set last weeks of. Sorry to be such a wet blankey but l love your ways and everytime l travel by moto in CR its been an adventure beyond my expectations so best. PURA VIDA!

Nice video, I just rented a dual sport for a week in January in Costa Rica and I noticed a lot of delivery guys have those kickstart motorcycles, do you know much about them?

This is insanely helpful! I’m going to Nosara for three months in April and I have a few questions. 1. If Dekra papers last a year, can you buy a bike with up-to-date Dekra paperwork, to avoid an extra step? Or does the new owner have to go through that process again? 2. Do you have to have a Visa for any of the above steps? I know US tourists aren’t required to have one to enter, but not sure if it’s different for buying a vehicle. 3. Will not having a motorcycle license (versus just a passport and state drivers license) prevent you from buying a bike or going through any of these steps? 4. Are there any places you recommend looking, besides the usual FB market and Craigslist?

Dekra lasts a year and you don’t have to do it again if you buy one that already has it, same with the yearly insurance. To buy a motorcycle nobody checks if you have a visa. I didn’t have a motorcycle license when I got mine. There are dealerships and shops that sell new motorcycles, but I don’t have any experience with those. You always get a better deal buying from someone you know of Facebook marketplace. I’d recommend getting a Yamaha or Honda because everyone knows how to fix them for cheap, and they’re reliable

Hey! Roughly how much do you remember paying to have a mechanic check out the bike?
@tropicalrussian

I'm not sure but it usually doesn't cost more than 10-12 bucks to look it over

I’m sure I’m gonna catch flak for this but I am running out of options here and figured I’d at least ask. What do you think the odds are that I’m able to use a (extremely high quality/scannable) fake US drivers license with the M for motorcycle and use that to get my bike registered and everything?

It sure sounds very complicated and expensive just for all the paper work, wow you have to get a lawyer just to do part of it as well, Texas is so easy and quick and cheap as well! In Texas all of that can be done in as little as an hour. When you move back to the U.S.A. I'd buy it from you! lol

You mentioned buying a motorcycle new but didn't explain about differences in getting the title, etc. between buying it used.
@daga2996
@daga2996 15 дней назад
For new motorcycles the agency handles all the paperwork (property title, Dekra amd Marchamo) it takes like 3 months or less, in the meantime they give you a temporary permission to use your moto, this permission is called AGV

I’m sure I misunderstood but are you saying you didn’t actually need a motorcycle license to get all of this done and your regular drivers license worked? I have been planning a move to CR the past 3 months and unfortunately my drivers license got suspended and I also don’t have a motorcycle license. I might be screwed… very disappointing. Of course I know without a valid drivers license that I won’t get very far but I do still have the physical license. I wonder if it’d work. 😰😰😰
