Sounds like a very positive experience, in what could have easily been a very trying time. The guys from Precision seem to have placed themselves in a sometimes overlooked sector of the market, with regards to the cruisers and private personal group. We wish them all the best, and thank you for sharing their insights and your fine experience with us.

The only people saying how great Precision Sails are, are the RU-vidrs getting free sails. The sailing community forums are full of Precision Sails horror stories.

Very very interesting episode, looking forward to part 2. Quick question, did you consider parasail instead of regular A spinnaker? advantages disadvantages?? Thanks for a great show🏋️👌🏋️

Great question. We did but they are considerably more expensive. So we didn’t dive too much into advantages for each. Cheers for watching.

I swear, whenever I see someone with a face diaper on, I usually just walk away. What is up with that? We are waaaay past the time when those things were found to be 100% counter-productive! That being said, I still find your site to be one of my top 3! Love the content, the sailing and your ingenuity. Keep it up

Why didn’t you use Rory Tasker? They make awesome sails and may be Precision Sales manufacturer? They are the experts. I’m a long time fan however, no-one wants to waste money on a company that doesn’t manufacture anything. Several of my friends got sails from Rory and they are super impressed!

This is just an advert for Precision Sails. 20,000 miles and sails are "so over our heads we dont know what to do". 1) CRINGE 2) LIES!.

This was great. I had a great email discussion with Precision Sails due to having specific Requirements as a Sailboat Cruiser (not Racer) who is also disabled. Such that I need Simp, icity and ultra Reliability. Hence to pretty much eliminate chafe, friction, and the resulting Wear and tear, plus retain Sail shape, I had worked out that for in Mast Furling, I needed a Battenless Mainsail, figuring OK, there's going to be a performance hit, which I'm fine with, and can ,ikely compensate for that with say a 125% Furling Triradial Genoa. So to find a Sailmaker that actually makes a battenless Furling Main? email Precision Sails asking if they did, soon got an email back confirming they do, and have made a bumper of them, recommending that I tick the Bluewater Cruising construction, on the Order form, as an aside, Main and Genoa both Triradial to retain Sail shape without going baggy like Cross Cut Sails with a service life with regular Sail Valsting, of up to around 20 years with Dacron Cloth. Then the email finished with a very interesting bit of information, such that if the Mainsail is Triradial construction, the performance recovered isn't that much lower than a fully Battened Crosscut Dacron Main . hmm. Both Sails for my next boat, will have three reefing points, and if things get to blowy, the Genoa will be furled in completely. My disabilities rule out Spinnaker Socks, so I need something useful and Furling, so .I'll need to chat with Precision Sails about what to use with More Sail area in light Winds to help fill-in wind angle gaps and I'm leaning towards a Furling Reaching Code Zero a bit more than a Furling Gennaker at the moment. Such a nice Company to deal with, I'm really looking forward to being a Customer, which will also mean I've actually got my next Sailboat. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Hi Guys, just started working my way through your videos to drop likes on, and got to your In Mast Furling issues, which has ,eft me gutted at the Basic Design flaw with the Z Spar Furler from such a great Company, and that After you had those issues with that Refurbished Raymarine Plotter. Ugh ! 😒 Maybe advertise Wanted a Secondhand plotter right Make and Model from someone upgrading to a larger Size ? You never know what might turn up to tide you over ? Plus legit Dealers do have some pretty big discounts on last year's models I've noticed , plus Someone getting a totally new full Raymarine Network plus instruments can get very large discounts indeed, especially when extra MFD's are added to an order. Nudge Nudge Wink Wink. Heck if there's a friendly Agent, ask if a big order is scheduled for a charter boat company coming in, you could piggyback an order onto. If I manage to get a Construction slot for a new boat, I'm going with a Full Raymarine Network plus instruments, Transponders, Radar, auto pilot AIS Transponder, and a lobster pot spotting FLIR Camera, and should get a cracking deal on on a assive Package Discount. If you are still looking for a replacement then, adding a big discount plotter within your budget won't be a problem then, I'm sure? also Garmin, Simrad etc equivalents will work on the Network too. Now to pick your brains, I like your Boat very much, but there's one thing I may have an issue with due to my disability. getting on and off the inflatable via Sugar scoop stern, is it OK swiveling onto it from sat on the inflated tube ? Once on, getting up to the Cockpit does look ok basically I'm like Long John Silver, without the benefit of a wooden leg, I'm pretty much like a leg and a weak third. lol, but determined to get back on a Sailboat. tbh, an electric folding up and down bathing platform, would probably work better for me as a dinghy Dock, with Cleats on the Transom to firm things up, and mooring ropes to cleats helping to get on and off the Dinghy, but if forced to get Secondhand, and a very nice Beneteau Oceanis shows up, well it is definitely worth adding to the list of possibles. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️

Hi Bob - thank you so much for your thoughtful message. We appreciate the support. Love the idea of piggy backing a large order or finding someone who’s replacing their entire suite and picking up a used plotter in good condition. Super excited for when you get all your new kit. That would be the most amazing experience to create such a beautiful system on your boat. Regarding our sugar scoop. Getting on and off the tender from a sitting position is actually fairly easy. You can basically slide your bum straight off and the slide the rest of your lower body off. A great example is my mother who is elderly and has a very bad knee. She would sit on the side of the tender and we would place it along the stern. She would then slide backwards onto the transom which is more stable and use the push pit to pull herself up. Another option would be the get a sailboat with a fold down transom. Offers a larger platform for getting in and moving around. Thank you again for your support. Let us know how you go. ❤️👍

@@SailingZephyr Thank you so much for the insights. Believe it or not, the now standard Prescribed cocktail of "stuff" for the over 50's included, among other disasters, a Bendroflumethiazide Water Tablet, which gives people Gout, which you only have about 3 months to Cure, and my GP didn't pick up on the problems I was reporting so it resulted in Chronic Arthritis. in the end, I asked the GP It's Not Gout caused by the Water Tablets is it ? Instant Panic and a very Red Faced "Stop Taking Them ! Stop Taking Them ! But too late, tbh, the only chance of reversing the Cumulative Damage including from other .Prescribed "Stuff" is another Sailboat that can take me to Tropical levels of heat for at least a few years, and thanks to you guys, I can now add a Beneteau Oceanis to the list of Suitable Sailboats to choose from. It does look like yours is a oretty essential Shallow Draft version too? Well Done, the number of places that opens up to run to for shelter from Storms and Hurricanes, is quite considerable. Tip for antifouling propellers, Rudders, etc, is to use 96% Zinc Cold Galvanising Paint 3 coats apparently works for about 2 years Zinc, like Copper, is one of the essential supplements for Healthy life- as lead is for Tropical Fish, believevitbor not. As I normally haul out annually anyway, to give everything a thorough checkover, Cold Galvanising Zinc Paint, after a oressure was and a quick rub down, is easy and cheap (land stuff is identical to Marine, but a fraction of the price) to slap another coat or two on. Side bonus, it is also an Anode, and may well help to reduce the wear and tear of those expensive Anodes - slap a coat of Zinc Paint on when new perhaps? I might just try 2 coats of the Zinc Paint as the complete Antifouling of the Boat, which should easily do 12 months, and give it a thorough inspection and video it to record how it gas oerformed. All I need now, is the price of Silver Bullion to climb to its proper Value, after over 170 years of deliberately Suppressed Pricing by the Banks. Oh another money saving tip - Epoxy Barrier Coating. Don't buy the stuff marketed as Barrier Coat, just use 3 Coats of Laminating Epoxy Resin Voila, Barrier Coated. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
