How to Calculate the GDP Deflator

hello, i got a question, if i only got the nominal GDP how to calculate the Real GDP? . Another doubt i got is that i found GDP data on dataworlbank, but i m not quite sure which kind of GDP they provide, Nominal GDP or Real GDP? Thanks

Hi , i have looked in to the Word bank published gdp deflator data with code NY_GDP_DEFL_KD_ZG. The data shows negative GDP deflator in many places. How do I interpret these ?

My professor is asking me to find the real GDP for a year previous to my base year, when I get the real GDP, I realize that my real GDP is greater than my nominal GDP because I multiply the quantities of products times the price of my base year. Is it correct my assumption?. How do I get the actual real gdp using the base year of my next year?
