Very disappointing - even at calibration 1 the board is not very bright. I just changed original battery 3.15 volts for fresh 3.3 volts but still quite useless. I am afraid the erase function is just a selling point.
@@dogscutmewires8778true, but we should need a flashlight to see it. Especially when you calibrate the exact erase past six, the entire thing goes dim.
hmmm, this instruction of calibration is wrong, i follow exactly and by the time i go to option 6 -12 and try to select it and erase, the whole writing is dim and not clear now. did i got a malfunction board? i got this brand new in amazon. :-(
The Exact-Erase is a bit clunky for all available options. I found that at least on the 4th/5th one it didn't completely dim the writing but there's still too much smudging for my preference. Any option past that makes the writing impossible to see.
@@juicedelavie6212I can understand wanting smudging for when you are drawing, but that is not really what this device is marketed for. With all the templates, I need an exact erase that is perfect, if it's going to be professional. I can't make a presentation on this thing with smudge marks all over the place. And then if you calibrate past five or six, you can't even see the writing.
I just got mine, it works well, tried to setup exact erase several times, but it seems to be just another complete erase button. I plan to just use it, take pics with the app and erase. it is similar to the Jot we already have at home. Exact erase was a huge miss, otherwise works well for a basic writing tablet like the jot

Tried "calibrate" like on videos, but just didn't work (literally at all on my unit), or at least not as expected. Its just one button to hold and not much room for user-error I guess... When I hold erase button it start to fade and just slowly darkening whole image. Doesnt react yo eraser pen.
You have to be careful not to keep resetting the calibration. If you would like Monday we can discuss it. I am the support manager for Kent Displays and I would be more than happy to discuss your issue further.
The "clear" method works for the first 5 minutes if you have a high quality BRAND NEW battery. After that it does not. Also, it does not work with the supplied battery at all. Avoid this device, meybe the next incarnation works better. Returned mine.
Folks, I drove 2 hours to try this thing in store, and now I feel like an idiot :) When you are trying it in store, you are geting really good feeling and you are buying it. Then (at home) you are realizing that this thing DOESN'T STORE ANYTHING AND CAN'T CONNECT ANYWHERE. The app in AppStore just a fake that snaps pictures through camera.
To be fair, nobody said this product stores or syncs. For the price, I wouldn't expect it to. The BB Sync does just that, but it costs more and you can't put your own page behind it to write on. There are digital writers that do it all, can upload & download from cloud, edit pages/templates, highlight, erase and save, but you're going to pay for it (like $400 - $500). Instead of a 2 hour drive, I maybe would have spent an extra 20 minutes online researching to make sure it's the product I actually want.
Actually vendor website did not say that it is not storing or syncing, but instead they said that there is an app. BB Sync is smaller, heavier and I have a MS Surface. I would pay more than $400 - $500 for a board of the same size and weight that allows to store images at least... and I spent more that 20 min, trust me.
Volodymyr Bykov well there's the ReMarkable that does everything for around $600, and another by Sony for around $800. But for those numbers, I don't even see why anyone would want one. Notebook laptops are available now with Windows Ink. With the special pen, you could spend around $500 and get way more features and functionality, plus a full fledged computer with color screen. And if you wanted the pen-on-paper feel, I'm sure you could find a screen protector to give that effect. I'm new to all this stuff but now that I've seen MS Ink, I can't understand what's so special about these E-Ink readers for same price or more.
weight, size, but mostly eyes... I'm a programmer and I'm spending most of my time with desktop or laptop. Sometimes I just want my eyes to relax but simultaneously I want to draw some schema or plan. MS Surface is cool, but still a little heavy and the same LCD.
I have bought several of the products Boogie Board makes: the water and brush ones are AMAZING snd well loved here at our house. The dry ones with magic ink effect (a bit like an etch-a-sketch) have been disappointing every time. Why have I been a repeat consumer? I guess I REALLY love the ideas so much and really want them
