I have a mountain bike on and with such a small front chain ring, my top speed is 15 mph at best me maxed out. I am pedling like crazy just to get up to 10 / 12 mph. and thats in the smallest back cog. i am stuffed.
I've just ordered a Wahoo speed and cadence sensor. Going to try using Zwift on a spin bike first. Never used this kind of stuff before, I'm already obsessed!!!
The Zwift calibration requires you to get to 37 km/hour. It did not state you should go over like you did. Wonder if and how this affects your calibration.
@@PartyChicken407 don’t think I received a concrete answer. Since posting this, I do a zwift spin down everytime I remove and replace my bike on the trainer. I never do a wahoo one. Probably would if I used the app more but I only use zwift. Not saying what I do is proper, just sharing what I do.
On the Wahoo app: "It is not necessary to do a spindown before each ride. You should do a spindown after transporting your Kickr." Not sure where did you get this info to do the spindown/calibration every two weeks. Maybe it's outdated?
But no necessity to calibrate the trainer if you use a powermeter (PowerTap P1 in my example) to control the trainer via the app, right? Of course I calibrate the powermeter itself ;)
My wahoo kickr decreases in power over a session compared to my quarq even with doing a factory calibration on wahoo fitness app. I have recently moved it but calibrated it afterwards. any ideas why it's under reading compared to normal?
This is a huge bug of the Wahoo Kickr. It's losing the resistance over and over, search for "resistance" "Wahoo" "Zwift" and you will find a discussion in the Zwift message boards, but unfortunately no solution yet. The problem exists now for almost a year....
Hello. I have a new Wahoo kicr bike. I find no options in the Wahoo fitness app where I can do calibration (spinndown) not in Zwift. Do not get any wrench symbol where I can do calibration
If you want to do "real life" routes on the trainer, give Rouvy a try. There are thousands already in the library and you can easily create your own (with or without video).
Hi Taren! Why should you do a spinndown calibration in the Wahoo app instead of do it directly in Zwift? Is the Wahoo app more precis/exakt then the Zwifts own calibration? Owns a Kickr snap and always do the calibration in Zwift.

In my opinion, consistency is more important than accuracy, and so if you want consistent numbers between indoor and outdoor rides, your power meter should be the source of power for as many of those rides as possible, which is why I use my power meter while riding indoors.

Why bother? Get a TACX Neo, plug it in and forget about it. Super precise every time, all the time. No belts, no parts that can deteriorate over time (except the bearing which is super tough to start with). The best out there, a no-brainer...
