Yesterday I was driving on FSD, and my Tesla seemed not entirely to understand the shape of a trailer right in front of us. I saw the representation of it shift from car to truck, back and forth. The Tesla was following unusually close to it as well, and I was frightened it was going to hit the trailer edge when it tried to pass. I disengaged and nearly hit a truck, then nearly got hit by the truck/trailer that almost merged into me. That gives me the question that led me to your channel; when exactly should I trust the Tesla, and when should I disengage? The other day my wife and I felt it was going to crash into an oncoming car on a narrow 2 lane road with curve. I'm studying your videos right now to try and understand where the 'danger zone' really is with the current FSD capabilities.
Yeah, after finishing this video; this is exactly what happened to me. Your discussion of cross checking out the window and the FSD screen gives me a great idea of how to do a better job supervising. Thank you for your teaching!
@@TheBladeSephara Based on my experience with FSD, I firmly believe it is safe for humans but not always for paint. The few times I have disengaged have been to save my paint. Thanks for the like.
@@ericgregori Thanks so much for your reply! That's a great way to put it. I agree. I think if I had left FSD on those two times, I would've gotten some DIY racing stripes in my white coat but been okay.
