@@rashmik.o8577 Is your zebra haworthia any better now? It is crucial to determine where the leaves get brown. If it's at base (lower part), it usually has to do with watering or potting mix. If it's the upper parts of leaves (or tips) that get brown, the reason is usually too much sunlight.

it might take a year and half ….most haworthia like limifolia nd zebra the pups grow very slow

That’s an very good question so while growing Succulents it’s all about experimenting and checking what works out best for you….now my videos are watched in different countries with different summer temperatures now usually what I do is whenever I give any information in my video I tend to give information which will suit everyone for example the summer temperature that you experience maybe the summer temperature will be different for me or vice versa for example in my country itself In my city I have a summer temperature of 35°C whereas another city the summer temperature is above 42 °C so for me keeping Succlents under large foliage leaves ( dappled sunlight) during summer is acceptable but for a person who has a high summer temperature during it is going to be very risky you might be able to protect your succulent from direct sunlight but the environment is going to be too hot there could possible heat waves and even if your succulent is getting protected from direct sunlight probably the hot temperature will damage the Succulent…. to much heat can also harm the succulent so again this is something that you’ll have to experiment and check what works out well for you ….. if your summers are not too warm dappled sunlight ( under large foliage leaves ) will work well

yea I add an extra layer of gardern on top coz they like slightly moist soil ….also I keep experimenting these were very old potted haworthia

oh ok mam Haworthia zebra is a very slow growing succulent it will take long time mine started putting out pups after three years … the succulents will be compact and green it indicates it’s healthy don’t expose to direct sun has to be kept in indirect bright light…don’t keep indoor unless you havw grow lights 😊

@@LushGardener people in our place usually do this.. especially in places away from towns where it's a laidback lifestyle people hop from one neighbour to another exchanging plants/cuttings alongwith bucolic chitchat 😀..the flower shops (from Darjeeling town) buys from these very places and sell them at the market for a better price

Yes you can! but they will take around 8-9 months to put pups Howarthia zebra is very slow provided the leaf is healthy and well hydrated when it fell off

@@LushGardener thank you so much! So is the propagation method the same? or should i plant the leaves in soil? I could not find much information on youtube. All videos of leaf propagation put the leaves in the soil and water them. I have not seen anyone dry propagate them.

same like how we propagate other leaves of succulents …yea I don’t know how the misting and watering without roots works …I have done that misting and watering without roots before and all my props use to rot ..

Well most sellers you see are resellers they get it from another place and the main person whoever selling it may have huge farms ( I assume ) and the production is done on huge scale Also it’s not the same case with all the varieties some varieties do grow faster the second varieties in the video has given a lot of pups and most of them have grown a decent size

@@LushGardener Thanks man, you are right that many are resellers but even in these big farms how does it grow so fast, in the last 3 months my pups are the same size and also in those farms how do they grow in ground soil

@@akhileshsuresh4933 yes some grow in ground some in pots .....I believe the place were these farms are Located probably is very favourable for their growth ....but again there is no short cuts ....so whenever they are ready they are sold or they might say out of stock ....I know a few sellers that’s grow own succulents and they sell once in a year due to which the succulents sizes are quite small

@@LushGardener cool man, how much do these sellers sell for, like i bought from succulent factory for 100rs. I assume that succulent factory has a connection with these farmers/sellers. How much these farmers sell it for. I would like to visit such farms some day

@@akhileshsuresh4933 yes succulent factory is quite good .....succulent prices vary from variety to variety the more rare the more expensive....even m not sure where the farms are located in India ....most of the succulents come from aboard mostly from Korea I have heard in Korea they have lot of succulent farms and most of the hybrids and rare succulents are created there

yes shallow pot absolutely fine ….even 4-5 inches depth with 8 cm width is good 😊

that’s ok don’t pull it out let it completely dry then it come off easily..don’t keep the plant in direct sun and don’t underwater excessive then it shouldn’t be a problem.. this happens at times remember don’t water on the succulent just the soil

no no don’t use that …it’s a different mix .. aroid mix is made to retain moisture for aroids it will rot the succulents

sougata roy u can ensure its river sand but it’s can be slightly tricky as fine sand also get compact at times so if possible try to filter it so u can get larger granulated sand U might get very less quantity after filtering ....basically u need to make the soil very lose ....so try it out and chk if it’s lose

I have seen photos of haworthia babies on the end of stalks similar to blooms or after blooms? ... it would make an interesting video but unless Frank has one in his collection he doesn't like to make a video about it, only advice from his own real life experience. Respect.

What’s the usual temperature..... if it’s high that’s is one of the reason ....it’s not your fault just the climate thing.. Haworthia is a winter grower and they go dormant in summer when temperatures are high and if majority of the time if the temperature stays high they will remain dormant they do active growing when temperatures are cooler . But again that’s doesn’t mean they will completely shut down they will be growth but very very minimal....

Thank you for the prompt reply . I live in Kerala where it is hot and humind throughout the year. Humidity ranges from 60-90%. That could most likely be the reason I guess

it’s the same soil mix that I use for all my succulents…it’s mix of 80 aquarium sand or river sand and 20 percent filtered garden soil ☺️

Where is it placed and the white does it look like fungus or mould ....if you can send me the pic on Instagram it will be much easy to look at Apart from that White or yellow leaves usually indicates too much sun. If the plant isn't getting enough light then the colour green will fade off and it will stretch.

yes they do get stressed and dehydrated .....but unfortunately they won’t change into vibrant colours like other succulents.....haworthia limifolia will get brown when exposed to direct afternoon sun but it’s not healthy for succulent in long run

It’s very slow process some variety will grow faster ....lmifolia is quite a slow grower
