What about some brown fringes on a leaf? What are those about? Succulents were so easy to live with. This Alocasia is kicking my but, but I am in love with it so I must spoil it.
Thanks for sharing the tips about pest prevention and how you rinse the rinse the plant. Will definitely use this as I just bought an alocacia and hope not to have a bug problem!
This is a really good guide. Thank you for the upload. I’ve noticed you haven’t uploaded for quite some time. Don’t give up!!! Come back and keep uploading.
Thank you for the video! I will be getting my first alocasia pretty soon. I was wondering how far down you place your moisture meter, for the 3 reading? Thanks!
best alocasia vid out there! I'm not sure what type of alocasia I have (it's leaves are maroon color and some are green), but I've had it for like almost 2 wks and the leaves are crunchy and drooping, most of them are turning green and some have yellowing. HELP!
So how long does it take for a silver dragon leaf to unfurl? It’s been about 2 weeks and no progress not sure if it’s normal or not. Also I have a dying leaf on my dragon scale and where on the stem can I cut it off?
my jewel alocasia have taken 2 months to fully produce a leaf from start to finish, so it should be doing just fine! they do get a bit more thirsty when producing new leaves, so if it’s stopped growing it might need a drink 🌿
I have two Alocasis. The first one I bought had huge leaves. When I put it into a bigger pot the leaves stared to die. Not sure why but after watching your video I hope some of your tips work. My other alocasia just started loosing leaves buy I just notes two new leaves coming up.
This video is very helpful, are usually just give my baby water from my fish tank or purified water from water bottles the little ones leave around the house. I absolutely never use tapwater for any of my plants, but especially not her also for humidity I just have her place right next to my diffuser with no oil and it works so great to keep the humidity of my window sell around 60% to 70%
First of all you are so cute.also very knowledgeable. I was hoping to find out what your thoughts were on these plants going into dormancy. Your Alocasias are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I have an alocasia polly i got it 5 months back and it just unfurl a new leaf. However after a week some of the small leaves started to droop. Heeeeeelp.
Dispite the two rude jerks in the comments below ... You explained everything crystal clear about this topic. You did a wonderful job on this video! I for one, am very, very proud of you! 🤗
it's so hard to stay focused whilst listening to you. You speak so slow, take waaay too long pauses between EVERY word and this *smack* noise every other sentence is gross. idk.. just makes me aggressive
Ok one more thing, how do you use your mosquitto bits without them molding? I was mixing them in my aeroid mixes and finding that regardless if mixed in or on top, they ALWAYS molded.
The problem I am having with my alocasias are the fact that they push out so much growth on long stems that the entire plant droops because of the weight. How do I prevent this?
@@marymiller5824 I cut the leaf off and let the bottom stay so the new leaf can unfurl. Unless the leaves are coming from the most outer part, I don't cut it down to the base. I do this just in case there will be a baby leaf forming which typically happens in the most inner leaves.
no offense but you need to spice up your videos, move around, show other plants as you talk about them, unless that is all you have that's shown in the video... you are knowledgeable about Alocasia, but your presentation puts your audience to sleep ... to say that it's mundane and colorless would be an understatement.. I'm sure you can do better :)
