This is my all time favorite Series on yt, I keep rewatching it and I fall asleep to it at night. Hopeful you'll keep releasing more videos every now and then.
Love the pilocarpa! I've had one for over a decade now, it's had many haircuts because it grew so long that the weight of the stems would pull it off the shelf as soon as the soil dried out a little. It flowers on and off throughout the year, the flowers drip quite a lot of nectar relative to their size. It's currently flowering like mad and producing berries at the same time, which is really cool!
@@erikavn7139 nope, no grow lights, it definitely doesn't need any. It has always lived around 2-3m (6-9 feet) from a very large east-facing window. It's in a classic sandy cactus mix and often goes bone dry seemingly without ill effect. Propagates very easily by just sticking the cutting in cactus mix and watering sparingly but regularly. Rhipsalis are so cool, I have a few other variety and they're all weirdly wonderful and easy to care for. The only thing that will kill them is gross overwatering.
@@Dwynfal Thanks for this info. I have the perfect spot to place mine in based off your info, and I already had him planted in a basic cactus mix despite what other videos suggested. This is my first Rhipsalis but I have high hopes and I'm so excited. They seem like rewarding plants.

I have a big ripsalis pilocarpa and a smaller “rat tail” plant. I live on the west coast of central FL. I LOVE them. It does get down to the low 50 F during some Fall and winter nights. 😵💫😵💫. I’ll bring them inside to my garage greenhouse on those cold nights. Thanks for your very clear video.

This is one of my favorite plants. I have mine close to a grow light and it looks great and flowered last winter. I bought 2 small plants to make a good size plant. I did find it in the succulent section of a garden center and it did not cost very much. It seems like it can be happy in any kind of light conditions. I wish more plants were easy care like this one.
I just got a 6-inch pilocarpa for 14.99 bc the nursery worker said "no one has been buying them - i guess they're not popular." I knew nothing about ripsalis even though cacti are my favorite plants to care for, and he's such a funky little dude.

I love them there are two types one for indoor and the other for out door, the indoor is more thin and outdoor very thick and darker, and can grow in water,
Rhipsalis are my favorite! Thank you for this video! Instead of watering the soil regularly, I usually spray water on my rhipsalis plants around once a week which keeps them lush and growing well.

I seriously love rhipsalis so much. I have two - species’ unknown lol but I think they might be a baccifera sp horrida and a cereuscula “coral cactus” They are just so dang cute and non problematic though 🥰 great houseplants
Hello Nick. Thank you so much for this video! I love my assorted rhipsalis! But have noticed some of them etiolating in my covered east facing patio in AZ. Do you have any suggestions on grow lights for them on a living wall? Soltech solutions or GE 30W Seeds and Greens? I hope to get them to flower one day! Also have you ever investigated Nepenthes Ventrata (common at Box Stores)? I have found it to be a very easy to grow and a rewarding plant even in AZ without any special care.
Great video. I am a senior in Canada so we lack the sun and humidity here at times. Do they reqire alot of humidity? Is there any diffence between the retusa and this one?, I am tninking of purchasing this one. thank you.
we dont have any rhipsalis here in TN have had to buy them all online and they are ridicoulsly over priced its crazy but hey that's why we propagate and in WATER lol
