No, I purchased leather furniture 7 years ago and just noticed it looks different on the side I sit on and the RTG samples I bought with it dried out years ago and some cracks where I sit and I’m freakin out!
@@furniturefair it’s grey, the brand is Cindy Crawford home. That’s all I know about it. The cracks are small along a seam. I never noticed until recently.
@@danrichards496 Hmm, without knowing the type of leather, it will be difficult to help with your problem. Have you tried reaching out to the place you bought it at? at the very least, they should be able to tell you the type of leather.
How can I tell if the seat, seat back, and arm rest are leather but the back and sides are a synthetic leather? The seats, seat backs and arm rest material have lost it's shine and is faded and feels like a soft suede but the backs and sides still look new dark and shiny and has mottled coloring. I'm not sure how to restore the shine or how to condition the leather.
It could be a couple of things, the grade of leather that could be on those seats could be unprotected and the leather could be starting to change… age can be a big factor into this as well. ultimately, depending on the age of the set, it might be time for a new set or have a professional leather restoration specialist come out and look at the set. Do you know the brand of the sofa by chance?

Mink oil can be used as a leather conditioner, however we would NOT recommend applying Mink oil to your leather furniture as it can dull the shine of your leather furniture. Fortunately, there are plenty of conditioners made specifically for leather furniture that ensure your leather stays moisturized and shiny!
