Growing and caring tips for GERBERA Flowering plants are discussed here in details. All the important points are covered so that viewers can maintain GERBERA Plants in summer months and can get lots of flowers from it.
Important tips:
1.In summer months grow them undef shade. Keep them where temperature usually does not cross 25 degree centigrade.
2. Please do not re-pot the plant. Grow the plant in the same pot where you have started. Gerbera can not withstand cut roots. Once the roots are cut there is a chance to die back.
3. Supply them 3 to 4 hours of morning sunlight or at best you can expose them to afternoon sunlight or one hour only, but never mid day scorching sunlight.
4. Water the plants only when upper half inch of potting soil is dried up. Do not make the soil soggy.
5. Never water the plants on crown or leaves. If you water on leaves or crown part there will be a huge fungal attack and plant may die.
6. Cut back all the damaged and dead foliage as well as all the spent up flower heads, so that the health of the plants are maintained properly.
7. If there is Aphid or mites attack use insecticidal soap spray. Do not use much of chemical pesticide.
