I need suggestion for Helmet buying. I currently have Studds Ninja flip-up helmet. But I feel its pretty heavy on my head. Weighs about 2kg. Should I go for buying Studds Shifter or should put some more money to buy MT helmet
If you can empty the wallet, get MT. Don't follow what I wear, I have right from 2k lids to 35k lid. I have the habit of buying helmets on my mood - if it feels worth for it's price, & I can afford it.
check out the thh helmets..they are dot or ece certified..they are not as expensive as the ls 2 or mt..they are light too..whatever you buy I personally suggest you to go for a full face helmet not a flip up..I too own a studds ninja 2g flip up helmet..it weighs around 1.40kg. But it is little cheap when compared to any other..thh helmets have reflective lining for night riding
Backpack as checked luggage - No problem, done it for years while backpacking. Just don't keep valuables in it, pack it around with clothes to minimize damage - IT WILL BE TOSSED around. Airport luggage carriers don't give a shit about handling it properly. Sometimes you can get away with 70L bag as carry on - If you're tall (or) flights not packed and the backpack doesn't look bulky as hell.
No real hassle with my helmet in my hand-luggage rucksack. Two times I was asked by security to open my bag so they could see what this large round hard object was that was stuffed with a gloves and a pair of m'bike trousers. But, I was then allowed to continue.
Why would it be thrown around the airport. Your backpack is your CARRY-ON . It needs to stay on you the whole time. Only time it goes out of your hands is on security check belt.
@@Escapetosunshine - Then better choose a good hard bag & pad your helmet with ton of clothes. Sometimes they also allow it as a extra carryon (if your 1st carryon bag isnt hella big). I know folks who have just carried it in hand, but that MAY or MAYNOT work. I suggest call your airlines & ask them.
Possibly if customs catch it in your bag with new box and all. If gonna use it anyway, just take off the tags & safely pack it with bubble if required & keep it in your bag. Write a sticker note on the bubble - "sweaty helmet I use" . (If check-in) I've never had issues flying with a helmet in carry-on.
Not if its open box, and you carry it as your own. But if you bring sealed box, they may consider it as sports equipment import (depending on the country)

Enough is enough! You are a South East Asia lover, speaking of volcano there are 4 countries in Asia with active volcanoes, namely, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan and Philippines. Because you are carrying a off-road helmet too (assuming) that means the volcano's nearby area (upto 10 km or so) is having pretty decent roads and the helmet is to prevent volcanic ashes from settling on to the visor. As you have been to Indonesia and Malaysia so we are left with Taiwan and Japan out of which Taiwan has more of Chinese influence because of political and economic pressure. Also you love Japan that means you are going to Japan. Speaking of your hint the video clip of volcanic eruption is from Sakurajima, Kyushu, Japan. Yes, I literally found that out by myself. Drop my a message if you want to know how. Also is one of the very active volcanoes erupting almost every day. So you definitely need that helmet. So this is it that's where you are going to. I brutally killed the suspense. Took me 3 days to find this out.
