I'm sorry, but I don't understand the 'why and when"' of the splicing. I like the neat edge in blue, but I don't get what's going on with the splicing, and what you're going to do with those white ends now hanging in the middle. i downloaded the free pattern and am looking forward to weaving the scarf! *Edit* I forgot to check other comments first, and see your reply to someone's below, with another video link. That clarified for me about the splicing to help with reducing bulk when weaving in, etc. Thanks!

Your arm is in the way during the splicing part

Perhaps a different camera position would have been better for the viewing audience. :)

This is what I was looking for, but the focus seemed to be on her arm. It was hard to see what she was doing with the yarn.

You need to reposition your camera for one's that are learning what you are doing. I could not see what you were doing as far as the splicing technique.

Confused! Maybe if I watch a few more times. Look at this from the learner's point of view -- your arm is in the way so much, so that part is missed. And it would be helpful to verbally or in words on the screen; outline the steps before teaching.
