Hidden gem RU-vid. Swapped to mid a few months ago and was hardstuck low emerald - watched a lot of ur vids and now Im closing in on diamond 2!! Crazy how good ur “teaching” is
I agree. The way he understands the game and is able to narrate his thought process while also performing mechanically is so impressive. He’s like other RU-vidrs that give us videos… except there’s that entire logical commentary that goes with it teaching you WHY he’s doing what he’s doing.
Advice from a 6 million Ahri 700lp gm OTP: NEVER EVER ABANDON TRANSCENDENCE. If you want Scorch + electrocute so badly then abandon manaflow. Corrupt pot gives you: 300hp 225mana a little bit of damage. Doran's ring + 2pots: 330hp 200-300mana (from regen until 6) 18AP and 5 damage on minions. So basicly don't go corrupt pot it's troll...
great stuff as always but one small thing, not a big fan of the zoom in when dodging skilshots. I think being able to see your and/or their movement in relation to the wave state is more important than the zoom in.
Question! 👀 Right now, my Ahri is a LOT better than any other champ I play because I used to one-trick her for a few years, but I do enjoy more variety these days and play a few other champs too, especially Diana and Cassio. Do you think it's better to focus on getting these two "up to speed" to my Ahri, as it were, before focusing on climbing (essentially giving myself a chance to "practice" them more in slightly lower elo) or do I just focus on Ahri and focus on learning overarching fundamentals instead that'll benefit any pick? I know my fundamentals definitely suffer when I play anything but Ahri, just because with her I no longer have to think about the champ's mechanics or limitations at all, whereas I'm quite slow to pick up new champs, so I'm distracted from the fundamentals for a long time there. (That's mostly why I ended up one-tricking in the first place to be honest-less because I specifically wanted to, and more because learning a new champ takes me so long until I get comfortable!) Hope this didn't end up too rambly! TLDR is it better to focus on fundamentals via more or less one-tricking, or to focus on solidifying the champion pool I enjoy & want to get comfortable with?
I love these videos man! Your channel has to blow up. Great content creator. Constantly explaining what’s going on with some humor added to it. Keep it up!
Magic pen boots and ludens are both flat magic pen (void staff is % magic pen) which means it's much more effective when your opponent has less MR. For example if you have sorcs and the enemy mid has 50 MR, 50-18 is a pretty sizable reduction. If your opponent has 100 MR, 100-18 is pretty much whatever. So TLDR if all your opponents are squishy and not building MR then ludens sorcs is really OP, but if they build any MR (mercs, hexdrinkers, null magics etc) then ludens sorcs falls off compared to liandry lucidity void really fast, lemme know if that makes sense
Can you explain why do you think mercs are better this game? I only understand that vs tanky characters CDR boots are more valuable cause you aren't oneshotting them anyway. I don't really understand when to go defensive boots with mages. Thanks for the video, I learned a lot.
Hello, i build mercs against syndra almost every matchup mid, because at level 7-8, syndra has double q and if she lands random stun with e, you are getting oneshot or atleast chunk for 70%. With mercs, stun is not long enought for her to land Q2 and W, so its mutch easier to play against her+ in this scenario, lux q is annoyin for ahri. Briar stun is not that important but i benefit from mercs against briar as well
It's mainly good for tenacity vs both syndra/lux and since ahri has to be pretty close to deal damage getting caught by a CC would be pretty much instant death
I cant watch any other lol player on youtube because they constantly talk about the most useless stuff and i blame Shok for this because he set my standards way too high with his constant crazy good quality commentary
Guess that is bc ahri needs the AP so she can oneshot the casters with one Q, when you buy tier 2 boots before LC, you lose a lot of waveclear and so you probably lose more time clearing the wave that you would gain with the ms, thats just what i think
With 20pen: a 100mres target goes from 50% reduction at 100mr to 45% reduction at 80mr a 40mres target goes from 29% reduction at 40mr to 17% reduction at 20mr. Its by far mor effective when your opponent has less than 50mr. You build pen boots vs squshies, void and cdr boots vs tankier opponents. Mr and armor get worse the more you have. 50armor = 33% reduction 100armor = 50% 200armor = 66% 300armor = 75% 400armor = 80% 900armor = 90% If you reduce 300 Mr by 20 the reduction goes from 75% to 73,7%
Other comments pretty much explained it already but tldr the flat pen just doesn't get much value once targets start to build large numbers of magic resist and is more effective when they have low/base MR
These days Ahri pretty much only functions as a utility mid, she no longer has the consistency to perform as a pick-assassin even with full damage builds.
@@chriscole7151 you can go damage or DPS builds on Ahri but there will always be champs that do that job way better than her so she IS utility by default
That's because most people don't know how to actually play ahris best strategy. She's best suited to subbing into teamfights instead of syndrs or ori, she fights different. She wins through getting picks and taking objectives with numbers advantages. Use her for back line picks, and with liandries her aoe dmg adds up with her teams help.
