For the 50/52 envelope type of challenges, i simply put $5 or $10 per week, instead of $$ equal to the envelope number. This helps me plan the same amount each week instead of the variable amount. I have one for each child for their birthday(from Jordan) And I have one Christmas binder (from Jordan) for the total family amount i want to save for Christmas, using the same method by the same $$ each week. These binders are separated from my other savings goals and I don’t “steal” from them for other needs. Like she said, fun to see these small amounts build up over time, and I have the cash ready for these fun, non-essential spending goals.

I love this idea! There is such beauty in the customization that can come with budgeting. It’s important that I don’t feel “punished” for not moving my long term savings money into categories to spend and spoil my family. It’s a hard habit to break for me but therapy and finding likeminded people to interact with has been amazingly helpful. I definitely appreciate seeing ways everyone makes money work FOR them.

I think a one month ahead book made like the monthly books would be great to add to the collection. We can save using the monthly while adding a little to each category in a one month ahead book❤

I'm doing the monthly saving, but it takes me 2 to 3 months to fill it.I only do where you put the dollar amount in. I'm also doing the 52 week Christmas, 100 envelope and a 52 week saving.

I use the 30 day envelopes in the back of the monthly binders as a $20 in each slot. That way I saved $600 for Christmas!

I use the 52 week challenge to save for my yearly car insurance. I only stuff it once a month, monthky pay, i know how much i need to save monthly. I dont go in numeric order. If i cant stuff all my money i hold onto it until the next month. Hope this makes sense.

Hi❤ with the 30 envelopes that you put cash in, Is that meant to stuff daily? I see how it looks great to stuff each individually but if you are paid weekly like I am I would find that difficult.

It is meant to stuff daily. If you get paid weekly you could stuff 7 envelopes on pay day. My thought for it when creating it was that as you spend money on groceries, gas, etc, you could try to save a little here and there and pull that money from that category and put it towards savings. (So if you're getting groceries for example, get the off brand cookies instead of name brand, and stuff that "would be spent" $2 from groceries into the savings challenge. If that makes sense. )
