I found this video much more interesting than just plain silver stacking. I believe your problem was you didn't have the ring level in the clay when you pushed it down in there. Also you poured a whole lot more silver than you needed to. Last, you need your clay packed even tighter than you had it. Think about using a smaller/thinner drill bit and I'd bet money it comes out way better. I'm glad to see you branching out into another hobby or for a small business money making idea.
That’s really cool man. I’d probably go with sterling just to make it a bit more durable for daily wear, but that’s just my choice. Others may want the 999
Budget Bullion Stacker yes sterling is pretty much the standard for silver jewelry. I work with 999 much more than the normal person so that’s why I cast this one that way. it’s not super practical because it will get beat up but that’s why I didn’t spend to much time getting it perfect 🤷🏽♂️🔥🐉
Ring looks cool with the hammered finish. Glad you posted this, and I'm glad you have some great links as well. Liver of sulphur gel?? What an interesting idea
@Silver Dragons great video, I’m learning more about pouring silver, I want to start doing it myself sometime. Your videos are great resources for this.
Nice work and great video, the only thing I would say is get a steel ring mandrel at Harbor Freight if you don’t already have one, they are cheaper than jewelers saws and will likely last a lot longer!
I know nothing about silver pouring, but as usual I won't let that prevent me to throw in my two cents; maybe a small breather vent on the opposite side of where the molten metal comes in might be a good idea? That would give the gasses and whatnots a place to escape when pouring. As always, thanks for your effort and videos, much appreciated.
great job my friend !! .. make sure you use a little air to blow out the loose sand ( clay ) from the pouring hole !!!.. you dont want to take in any of the sand in to the pour when you silver goes in !! that leaves you with an imperfect pour and little areas that are missing silver .. other than that great job !!!
Well done laddie. Great job. Nice bit on what is needed son. I use a small drinking straw to make my vent holes. Just twist them in and then tap them to clean them out. Works great. Nic step by step here this day my dear friend.
New Stacked lol I would say for making fine rings with settings it’s probably better to do lost wax casting but that of course is a whole new ball game 🔥🐉
reason you keep getting pits and missing part on edges is 2 reasons 1 you do need to pack the clay alot more than what you are showing . 2 you need to add a air release hole on the back side basically what you did on the front but smaller . may want a catch pan under it
was helpful. i was trying to find something like this, im about to cast a few redgold and silver rigns myself for the first time. and wanted to figure out what kind of sand etc youre using and the mold ring itself off to shopping i go for the mold!
I L💙VE this video ! Great job .! You are a great inspiration to me ! (And many others I’m sure) I was try to think of a way to do a specific pour and this just turned on the lightbulb 💡 in my head !! Yea that’s right ! I search your archives for techniques I can try! 😁 🐉💨 you’re the best ! 💙💙💙
Deep in the land of Oregon, in the fires of the electric furnace. The Silver Dragon forged a silver ring. And into this ring he poured his creativity, his magic, and his will to dominate all silver pouring.
Hello I have a problem. My silver doesnt travel inwide the molde... sometime even before fall inside the way for create the piece the silver becames solid like a frozer waterfall .do you know why? That to answer me
Dude I had to go run and look to make sure if the very first ring I cast was still in my silver collection (just kidding or am I?) because yours look just like the one I made so wow to you man!.
