How to Cast Footwear Impression Evidence at a Crime Scene 

When I started Law Enforcement back in the 80's, we would carry a can of Extra Hold Aquanet in our kits. Before pouring the plaster we would spray the impression with the hairspray to make it more rigid. this would reduce the chance of any details collapsing or becoming obscured. Is this technique still used?

What material did you use for the substrate? I'm trying to practice casting and want to set up something like this!

If you're taking this impression in about October or during the autumn seasons, how long would you have to wait for this substance to harden?

When I learned, we used PoP and told strictly not to smoothen the top after pouring the PoP

we have done this during our labotory in criminology

Seem like it be a lot easier to mix it in a hard container and that stick.
