Greg Worley discusses how to install and use the Cat® TRS6 Tilt Rotator System with the Cat Next Generation 305 CR Mini Hydraulic Excavator including ideal job sites and applications for the TRS6 system.
why would you not have the s40 on top alao? now you need two sets of buckets, quick silly. I think keeping the thumb is a fine idea but it does ass extra weight and i don't really miss mine after switching to a tilt rotator.
Hello Benjamin! The Cat TRS is available with both Cat Pin On and/or S-type top and bottom options. The S-type interface is a universal coupler that can pick up many different attachments. For more information, contact your local Cat dealer - Vincent

God please if your buying a Cat mini with a Tiltrotator don’t follow this advise of using a pin grabber top hitch to pick up a direct fit Tiltrotator just to be able to use a thumb. You don’t need a thumb which adds extra weight, something a Cat mini can do without. Just buy an S40 top hitch and S40 Tiltrotator then add a decent grapple. Always order the extra counterweight and dont order the short stick (dipper) as it will be terrible to grade with. Ditch the heavy pin grabber hitch and thumb so you can use the standard dipper. Marketing dept gone mad with this advise. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Direct fit Tiltrotators (including TRS) are not designed to be used with a top hitch, the linkage geometries are all wrong. The inefficiencies of using a Tiltrotator this way will hinder it’s true potential.
