On this week's episode we got a call from our good friend Terry to go fish for some bullheads! When I was a kid, I used to fish for bullheads with my dad all the time! They are relatively easy to catch, easy to clean, and great to eat! Check it out as I show how to catch, clean, and cook some bullheads!

My dad loved those bullheads, well so did I. We skined them and cut off head and cooked them whole. We would fish trout in the day and bullheads at night. Miss the man and the times!

My dad would tell me exactly where to cast in our pondlake out back. Immediately a bullhead. We never ate them! We ate turtle squirrels deer duck everything but I just realized I have never had bullhead! I raise my glass to you and the memory of your father!

So, during a late summer frog migration, we were fishing from a bridge.....(pretty sure we were not supposed to be...) and it was like a feeding frenzy down there. The little creek about 20 feet below the bridge, was just boiling with bullheads. We could throw anything and we'd hook one. We had a funny thought that they might even bite a bare hook, they were so crazy....Well, I never caught so many fish on just a bare hook since then. That was a good 25 years ago. To this day, I'm still happy to hook any fish, no matter what it is. Never wanted to eat a bullhead until you showed this. Thanks!!

Great recipe that I've used on Walleye, Perch and Bullhead, absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Cut fish into 2 - 3 inch chunks and coat with "Franks Hot Wing Sauce" (I use the Mild Wing Sauce), the Flour good and Deep Fry. If you try this I'm pretty sure you'll do again and again. I learned this recipe from a RU-vidr named "Lakeforkguy". Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!

Hey Larry great video, just a tip I learned if you cut the bullheads gills and bleed them out after you catch them while they're in your bucket they won't be so messy when you fillet them and they taste better!

Hey Larry, just wondering what type of cordless fillet knife you are using? Have read reviews on some, lack power, and don't last very long. Maybe a pod cast topic. looks like a rapala, but not sure. thanks!

I don't like the taste of catfish. Are bullhead similar in that their meat has a soft texture to it? If so, I don't think I'd like bullheads either.

its not for everyone! no doubt! And they do have a similar texture but you'll never know until you try it!!

You have to fry it hard. Use cornmeal. It takes 2 to 4 times longer to cook than other fish. It firms up and is delicious.
